Just remembered, my FIL once suggested I give my DD who was probably 1 at the time a can of sweetened condensed milk to drink instead of normal milk.
He used to drink it all the time as a kid!

    I think it's both.
When this friend poured coke into her 8 month old sons bottle I asked her why. She said he didn't like water and they were out of milk, they never had food but she always had smokes and alcohol.

The oddest thing..... Anything not breast milk, or formula or what ever milk cause your kids got allergies under 1. I don't see the point... (except the gastro reasons for hyrdolite or powerade...oh and juice for constipation! lol)

My kids have flavour milk and cool drink on occasion. Never energy drinks... really WTF???

My kids never have had anything in there bottles, sippy cups and even now drink bottles other than water. I figured that was always the number 1 place to get a drink, the special ones came with straws, so they had to learn that skill first! Or a proper cup.

What culture do they come from, out of interest?

I saw a photo of my younger cousin at his christening about 20 yrs ago and my uncle was holding him and feeding him with a VB stubby bottle with a teat on it!!

In his defense I don't think it was booze in it but what a horrible joke and image nonetheless.

Strangest thing with my own eyes would have to be flavored milk or cordial.

Yes but a punnet of strawberries will make 1L of strawberry milk, say $1 for the milk that's still $2 cheaper and doesn't have any of the crap strawberry milk has in it. But each to their own I'm not fussed my own kids drink chocolate milk occasionally!

My dad told me his mother fed him and his siblings condensed milk when they were really young in the 1940's-50's. how times have changed thank goodness!
