Umm, if you are abstaining you definitely can't get pregnant. The contraceptive method has a 0% failure rate....it's just that people aren't always very good at doing it because it is hard. If you get pregnant then you obviously aren't practicing abstinence.

It would be like saying 'the pill failed me...but I forgot to take it everyday and had diarrhoea on the days I took it'. Clearly the pill didnt fail....you weren't actually using it.

This was not MY fault I didn't know he was meant to check with me about it and he never did! I'm not sure on the stats of having your tubes tide but the vasectomy has a failure rate of 4:1000 in the first year and 1:1000 after that. I have also had 2 more unplanned pregnancies while using NFP because there is no other suitable birth control for me! This post is so rude and ignorant you think there is such a thing as the perfect birth control, I suggest you go and educate yourself on how effective they actually are and the obstacles some women face when trying to find one that suits their situation.

And don't you dare suggest abstinence as this has the WORST failure rate!
I standby by comment that the lady in the story is a fu@tard. She didnt have one or two whoopsies. She had FOUR ! And here's the clincher that led me to believe her whoopsies were due to her less than stellar decision making skills: She beat her child to the point the child became disabled.

As for your situation, Im not calling you that name. I don't necessarily think you can claim no fault in your 3 unplanned pregnancies though (NFP isnt reliable and women should know when changing contraception there is a period of no DTD, if the doctor doesn't tell you then it's your responsibility to ask). I don't think that qualifies you as a fu@tard though.

If any other form of contraception was notoriously difficult to use, then this would contribute to its failure rate. And abstinence is notoriously difficult to use

Perhaps "failure" is not the correct word to use; the point is that those who exclusively rely on abstinence to avoid pregnancy often end up pregnant. Therefore it's prudent to consider less drastic and more reasonable measures.

I think she meant it as people make mistakes, they try to be abstinent and fail sometimes, which can lead to pregnancy if they used no other backup plan, which they normally wouldn't have since they were anticipating remaining abstinent.

TBH priests didn't even cross my mind. I was thinking of those teens who pledge themselves to whatever cause they think they owe their virginity to.

Ah yes... Where in America daddies take their daughters to special virginity pledge balls (bit like a deb) And give them a purity ring. Makes me want to puke!
