You read it that way but nowhere did i say that "only pro choice find hearing about abortions upsetting". Clearly that is not the case and only an idiot would think that!

I was merely saying that just as ones who have had an abortion find it distressing to read, ones who are pro life (like im guessing cinderella is) may find it just as distressing.

Its distressing for all to read in summary.
I can see what you are trying to say, and I don't doubt that it is distressing for pro lifers to read this stuff. But I don't think it would be "just as" distressing as someone who has been through a lta.

Sorry! I must have misunderstood your post. Tired + emotional = confusion!

Thanks so much for that Melissa. I was positive on what happened before 24 weeks but didn't understand after, but I felt it was most likely a process as you described.

For Melissa and BRV, I'm so sorry you had these experiences. Loosing a baby is a pain I would never wish on anyone.

I'm confused now as well... I felt I figured out what you meant, I was just explaining how I had read it.

It also states that Medicare does not distinguish between abortion and other medical procedures.
I'm not sure, I just found this on a government website... "The exact number of abortions performed in Australia each year isn’t known (only South Australia, Western Australia and the Northern Territory collect abortion statistics and only South Australia releases the data), but an estimate published in 2005 was 70,000 to 80,000.

Medicare data give an indication of abortion numbers, but don’t distinguish between abortions and other medical procedures, such as the removal of a fetus that has already died. The estimated abortion rate for Australia in 2003 was 19.7 abortions per 1,000 women aged between 15 and 44 years." So far I have only read the link for SA but it isn't just abortion statistics it's for all births/pregnancy numbers. I apologise if it isn't accurate.

Like I said, I hadn't read all the pages, but I've deleted the link anyway as it's not my aim to spread misinformation.
