    Default Anyone's kids play Skylanders??

I just bought my DS1 Skylanders giants for the wii. He has been playing skylanders spyros adventures at his dads for a while on the PS3 and has it down pat.

I've never even used a wii before (had it in storage as I scored it in the separation) and thought I'd let him have it for his birthday.

Problem is we can't figure put how to unlock the gate using the key. It shows an image of the controller and says move - which we've done but nothing happens.

    Can anyone help us??

DS1 says try poking at it with the controller.
Like back and forth in a "poking" motion? Like from shoulder outwards.
    Does that make sense?

Nope. You don't have to press a button.
He said check the sensor and make sure it's picking up the remote.

Yeah turns out the remote wasn't working properly. It'd been in storage for two years and the batteries had leaked a little. Soooo $70 later and it's going good!! Is it just me who's horrified at the cost of one remote control?? Haha
