    Default Speech therapy costs

Does anyone know what a private speech therapist generally costs? DS1 is on the public waiting list (which is huge) and I'm wondering if it's worth considering forking out for private instead.

We pay $75 a visit before our health fund. Our gap is about $30.

My dd is being assessed in more detail by the CHN in a few days for her lack of speech at 19 months. She recommended going on the public hospital wait list which is 12 months long because then it gives me the option at 2.5 years old to decline an appt if she is speaking well. I assume you are looking for speech therapy for your bub who is also under 2? Is it urgent or can you wait 3 - 6 months and save up a bit of money first, then go private if the public waitlist is still long?

We had one session a little over 2 hours (the time flew) for 2 yo DS and it was $245. The session transformed things for my son. We got about $120 back from phi.
