Hi folks! Congrats to all these lovely ladies expecting bubbas!

I received some reassuring advice from Ruth that it is unlikely DHs radiation treatment will affect his swimmers... due to the location of the treatment area... but we have been advised to seek further advice from the treatment specialist. So at least I'm not stressing so much now...

Some more good news... I received an email reply and some blood test referrals in the mail from my FS yesterday (wazza) so we can get the ball rolling prior to heading to Greece. Iakentro require a number of tests and they must be less than 12 months old. I've done most of these tests already but they have expired. So I feel like we've at least got the ball rolling...

Have also started looking at flights, accom, things to do and insurance for the trip. I notice that ANZ apparently has one of the best travel insurances. Catch is you have to pay for your trip using your ANZ credit card. I think there is also insurance available from other companies that is specifically for ivf abroad... but I don't know much more about it.

I have started talking to my colleagues and boss at work about going on an overseas holiday to 'Europe' around late September. Just laying the foundation now so there are no surprises later. It makes me think... what a lot of thought and preparation us DE chicks have to go through!! These bubbas are SO wanted.

Congrats Dette. How exciting. What a surprise it must have been to see two heart beats.

CherryCP sound like things are looking good for your plans.

my period arrived this afternoon and I have spoken to Dr Kanakas and will get flight dates confirmed Monday. I took my first progynova. Finally we are set. God I hope it works.

Not much to report yet find out more today, but so far no dramas. Lining ok and progestrone on track.

Just had to update a wonderful lady we meet on last trip. She came here for surgery first and then a cycle.
Penny from Serum did her plan, as she could not get FS at home to help her.
Due to age and did not get NHS assistance.
Had her transfer and her first beta was positive, over 2000. Twins I think

    Yay for starting Positano

francescat - hope it all goes well, I am heading over in 4 weeks. Are you just relying on WIFI or did you get a prepaid SIM over there? I dont think I will cope without access to the net

Cherry - Hope everything works out, I feel for you in having to worry about radiation when you have all this going on too. I am happy to share my experience with Iakentro and any tips when I go over next month. Have you had any contact with them directly or has it all been with Ruth? Mine has all been wiht Ruth which I am ok with as she answers all my questions.

I looked at flights today, feel scared to book incase something goes wrong with the donor (i know that's a bit negative.... ). How far in advance did everyone else book their flights. I keep hearing if I leave it too late then the airfares are a lot more expensive and unpredictable. Any advice would be appreciated

All the best to the ladies who have buns in their oven - yeahhh!!! I really hope I come home with cargo too

    Default Egg Donation in Greece

Wet setter - I don't think it's negative to worry about your donor at all! We all know from our own cycles that response can be unpredictable, on top of that the donor is a stranger you have no control over her commitment like you would your own so naturally it feels a bit out of your control! But hopefully your clinic has the donor in hand so all should be well. When I was looking into it the travel agents said all sorts of things about cost and availability of flights on short notice too. I ended up buying a flight about 6-8 weeks in advance, if I wanted to change the flight I was going to have to pay a fee. I did end up changing my return flight but it only cost $70. I might do something similar this time - I want to go in Sept but I'll need to stop breastfeeding, get my cycle back (that's the unpredictable bit) start meds, then go over for a FET, so I can't predict exact timing given I don't know when my cycle will return. I might buy a Sept flight then cop the fees if I need to change the dates - it's cheaper than buying a flexible fare ...

I relied on wifi on all my trips.

Wet setter- Im not sure about what my insurance covered, I didnt check? sorry I'm no help!!

Positano, congrats on getting your period !!! Not long now !!!! wohooo

Dette, congrats on the twins !!!

I'm not in good form, I had a bleed on sunday morning, went for scan today with wazza and hes put me on high dose of provera, more pessaries, some valium to relax uterus, and other stuff to stop bleeding, I only bled a little, but we did a scan and he saw some bleeding behind the sack..He didnt see anything but a yolk sack, no baby and was concerned it might be a blighted ovum, but told me not to discount it yet, that my uterus is slightly tilted and perhaps the baby isnt quite 6 weeks yet??Theres only one yolk, not two...He said not to worry just yet, my bloods came back at 13326.. and I'm going for another scan and bloods on friday. Hes put me on bedrest ..I didnt want to tell you girls since there is so much good news lately, but I'm a bit stressed and venting helps release it..

I pray that on Friday we see something other than a yolk sack and this little baby was just hiding, im not crying just yet, but on the verge of tears, im not going to jump the gun just yet...but I DREAD having a blighted ovum, i've had one before and had to get a curette...not something I really want to do, since my lining is thin enough as it is...I've got lots of tv shows to catch up on, got a whole season of Revenge and a few others to watch... I got my toenails done today in a bright fluro orange to cheer me up...I pray to all the gods and goddesses that my little baby is in there and everything works out, or I'll be here whinging and moaning about how my life sucks.

Good luck to every one else going through this, I'm optimistic that perhaps its too early for the scan, I was supposed to go next wednesday....I have 2 more frosties in Embryoland waiting for me, so I guess theres hope yet...I just want to have a baby this year, not be flying back and forth to Greece..Im sad but I think the valium is relaxing me somewhat and stopping me from getting too emotional, plus the support of my friends is helping...

wish me luck and bless you all with good fortune...
