I agree with the comments too, I guess we have all had really insensitive things said to us over the years (sometimes by the closest to us and well meaning ones). However they wont ever know the journey you have been on. Stay strong and dont be swayed by others comments

Yasna - really felt for you in the hotel room on your own . But fingers crossed there are happy days ahead soon

Cherry - totally agree with you - I felt my 30's was lost to infertility and parts of my marriage too. Lucky we all survived and are excited about this next part of the journey

Thanks everyone for the kind words and reassurance. I think like most you of you on here I have spent so long researching and questioning that now it is becoming a reality I am having moments of panic and doubt. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be travelling to the other side of the world to have a donor egg.

But here we go. I got my script today for progynova and Dr Kanakas said last night he was doing up my plan. Wow.

I know the moment I have an embryo inside me nothing else will matter and it will be my baby that I will cling to.

I think I am looking forward to the idea of going to Greece and being out of my routine will allow me to relax and be a better experience than the stress of going through ivf cycles here. No daily injections and egg pick up to lead up to it.

Now I am looking forward to finding out what I can about my donor.

    Hi Ladies,

Ill chime in my process with the donor comments. OMG the stupidest and most ignorant wrong, dumb and just plain f@cked up. Came from my husbands boss who is in a gay relationship, used IVF with donor sperm, her partners eggs, she did not even carry one of them.
She had the nerve to say to my DH that the child won't be his and won't look like him.
Um we are using his sperm, mind your own business, and if you want to be rude, well lets "what the hell are you're kids" !!!!
I could go on and on, other staff had to remind her of her own circumstances. Just another WTF !!
Makes me cross even remembering it!!
So deep breath, people need to keep unhelpful and rude comments to themselves.
    But very right Wet Setter.

Yay for April Postanio Sounds like a great plan!!

Scan tomorrow, a few days early. Plus a blood test to ensure things are on track
Already ready got the DEX crazies

Dette good luck with your blood test xx

Hope everything is well for Rachael & Yasna.

    Lots of baby dust

Hi, Getting a donor egg transfer is a similar stage as ovulation. So from what I've read, you cut a fresh pineapple into 8 slices and eat 2 slices of pineapple per day (eat the flesh and the core). However if you are taking aspirin or blood thinners it is recommended you avoid pineapple. There is a good article about it on http://natural-fertility-info.com/br...lantation.html

Some articles also say brazil nuts help. Also keep yourself well hydrated.

Helloooo my lovely PREGNANT friend :-D. I got the donor's details at some point after my positive result - I asked for them though, Penny didn't send them through automatically.

Vixjc I'm confused - do you mean you didn't have any info on the donor beforehand? What info were you given before and after?

    Default Egg Donation in Greece

Hi Chillout - I didn't have any specific details prior to transfer other than that she met the criteria (looks like me, is academic and sporty). If I'd pushed for it Penny would have told me more although she does believe in leaving the details until after a BFP, but as long as those criteria were met I figured there was no point asking for more - after all what was I going to do with the extra info? The fact she is outgoing and likes travelling, bicycling and photography is lovely to know but doesn't make any difference in the end. If I was able to see profiles or photos I'd want to see them beforehand, but in Greece you can't so I was happy with knowing my criteria were met. Afterwards I was told her basic details such as ethnicity, build, colouring, her hobbies, style of personality, and age.

Chillout I was also told the main stuff before transfer. Build enthinic origin, blood match, height weight and some personality things like hobbies.
    I trusted the clincs choice.
Im sure they would have told me more if my beta numbers were higher and a proper BFP. Not a chemical

Had my first ultrasound today all on track less meds this time yay! Proper one due Tuesday.

    Lots of baby dust
