Reminds me of when we went to see Valkyrie (set in Nazi Germany- Tom Cruise is the ringleader of a plot to assassinate Hitler) At the end of it I overheard a girl say 'I'm disappointed. I really thought they were going to succeed!'

I thought chickens died with their wings tucked up I thought something was wrong with them when I started work in a chicken shop and they were just hanging there

I can't believe no ones mentioned this one!

Sitting around at handover the talk turned to births. My supervisor turned to me and said she was glad I'm too smart for a water birth, they're too dangerous with all that water and how do all those women risk drowning their babies...tsk tsk. A colleague who's wife is due 5 weeks before me agreed! I didn't think anyone still believed this stuff!!

BTW, I have never talked about my birth plans with at work, but I think it was a subtle msg to not be a "hippy weirdo" lol

A friend made a joke about the end of Titanic and his sister (mid 20s) shrieked 'The ship SINKS?' She thought it was about a ship that had a horrible accident & still didn't sink. She'd also never heard of the actual Titanic.

Definitely one of the better threads currently going on BH!

Once I took newborn (no more than a week old) DD into my work to show her off and catch up with everyone, when a male colleague asked me "so is she sleeping through the night yet?" And seemed genuinely shocked when I said no!

I remember when dh and i were dating, a friend of mine had jst had a baby and brought him over and my dh ( who clearly hadnt been around a many babies let alone a newborn before) exclaimed " wow, he is like, a little human" with a surprised look on his face.

Yeah babe. Babies are in fact little humans hahaha. Was gold.
