I have heard both and don't quite know what to do with them. Usually if it is only slight green I cut that bit off, otherwise I throw them. DP on the other hand throws them if they even think about going green.

For healthy adults just cut the green off, for babies, pregnant ladies, children don't serve the potato at all - read this in a Reader's Digest book.

I've eaten a partly green potato that had started to sprout (green parts & sprouting parts cut off) once...and it gave me horrible diarrhea. No thanks

It was the greening, not the sprouts. Sprouted potatoes are still fine, eye roll or not

My husband went into the servo after filling up with fuel and bought a Cherry Ripe for the first time.
We are driving and he takes a bite, chews and then puts the window down spitting it out spluttering "What the F*** it has cherries all through it"
I just laughed... I don't know what he thought he was buying... I think the name "Cherry Ripe" gives good indication of what's in the product.

    And my dumbest moment.
We were watching the news and they were showing all the dams on a map and how full they were after the floods.
Me: "wow I didn't know they were so far away"
    Dh: "and?"
Me: "well I suppose I thought they were closer, when you turn a tap on the water comes out so fast, I don't understand how the water can travel from the dam to our taps that fast"
Yeah... I wanted to b!tch slap those words into submission the second they left my mouth.

Haha thats why i only buy as much as I need and won't buy it if it doesn't 'look good enough'. I wouldn't take the risk personally.
