*DP being cheeky whip's out his "pork sword" shakes it at me breifly and puts it away* (i only saw out in the corner of my eye)

    Me: Was that hard??

    DP: No, it's eloped.

Me: Oh sweetie... do you know what that word means???

DP: I'm guessing it doesn't mean that its all relaxed and soft?

Me: nope.. thats Flacid.. *gets another funny look from DP like he diddnt know that one eigther* - cue explination of the word eloped

DP: Yeeah ..... definately not the word i was after.

I'll shamefully admit I asked my sister the same question about my niece when I was 19. In my defense - I'd be we really been around babies before aaaaaand she always had her eyes closed!!! Haha (okay yeah it's a stupid question)

When I was pregnant we noticed nappies on special so i insisted we grab a box.
DP was *very* impressed you get 108 nappies ror $30.
"Thats a whole months supply!" he exclaimed......
I stared at him blankly for a few seconds then realised he was serious. I had to hold onto the shelf i was laughing so much....
Its not so much a dumb thing but more of a new dads cluelessness i like about my story!

My niece is 6 weeks older than DD and when we visited her and brother and sister in law in hospital sister in law was feeding her four hourly as she was in neonatal for a couple days. DH pipes up with 'even during the night??' and seemed shocked that this would happen. It was at this moment that I realized that he had very limited idea of what to do with a baby...

My grandmother while I was relactating my then 4 month old dd,

"You're starving her. You know if they made formula like they used to without all that junk in it, it'd be so much better than breastfeeding" Even though she used to tell me she used carnation milk:-\

Also I was scoffed at for insisting she be swaddled and not covered in a quilt.

When dd was just over one and I had dropped the bottles, she gave dd raw milk in a dark drink bottle and I couldn't figure out why her face was bright red. Turns out gm was sneaking her raw milk as all I did was feed her junk.

The reason for the rash? She was 'detoxing'.

    I was bloody ropeable.
