One of the guys I work with asked me the other day if my daughter could speak. She's 4. Ummmmmmm yeah she can speak. All day. Full sentences. He didn't believe me.

Same person asked me if my 19 month old was crawling yet. *Face palm*

I'm a midwife and once in an antenatal appointment a lady was complaining of having back pain, along with other suggestions I recommended she try swimming, her response....
'I can't go swimming, if my belly goes underwater I'm afraid my baby will drown!!' she was dead serious.

I'm afraid that way only one of many, many incidents... I'll rack my brain and add some more up as they come to me. That one was my personal favourite... The look on my bf face was priceless.

From memory he named the coconut "hairy".

I have a friend that believed Eskimos were mythical creatures, " like leprechauns and fairies".

A friend came to visit when DD was 3 months old and we had an Easter egg for DD on the bench. Our friend asked if DD liked chocolate, and I told him she couldn't have it yet, since she didn't eat. He responded with 'If she doesn't eat, how does she survive?'. I told him I was bfing her, and a year later he still doesn't believe she survived for 4+ months solely on my breast milk.

At least he knew they had to be cooked. I went to party at uni once and the potato salad had been made with uncooked potatoes. The girl in question seriously had no idea they should be cooked first.

    OMG!

TWO friends told me to massively stock up on milk and bread to freeze while still pregnant - coz once bub arrived I WOULD NOT get out to get some. Oooookay. So life stops altogether?????? What about hubby/family/friends?????????

MIL told me not take bub outside on a windy day, coz it would push the air up into her nose and give her wind.

Close friends told me that u can't put ur arms up over ur shoulders/head while pregnant coz that makes the cord wrap around baby's head.

Right. So how do u brush/wash ur hair, lie down, do ur make up? So what happens when u lie down?

Yesterday someone said to me 'gee, there's a lot of Kiwis here (ANZAC service), I guess they are really grateful for the Australian contribution to the war...'

I then asked him what ANZAC stood for, he replied 'Anzacs are the biscuits they sent the soldiers'.

Good on him for showing up to pay his respects, as clueless as he may have been.
