Default Cold sore remedies for toddler?

DD is having a terrible run health-wise
She woke up with a cold sore this morning and she's got a mild temp and redness in her ears. We've been to the GP already as we needed to get results of some tests for another health issue.

Has anyone used any safe remedies with any success?

I always use medi wipes ( like they use before a needle) it works better than any of the creams. Just hold it on the cold sore at least four times a day. Although it does sometimes sting a little if it has broken the skin so not sure how it would go with a toddler ( if they sit still) cold sores are horrible- the poor thing

Thank Lovepink. Yeah she's quite run down at the moment. Our GP called tonight because he got a blood test result and her white cell count is significantly raised. I wish I could make her better!
