    Default Thrush??

Has anyone had vaginal thrush ? I'm pretty sure I have it , I've been really itchy down there , more so at night and the scratching has caused the skin to tear so now when I do a wee it stings so bad!!! ;( it's driving me crazy!! I know I should see a doctor but I hate anyone looking down there!!
Is there anything I can get over the counter ??

You can buy canestan cream over the counter at the chemist so you don't have to go to the doctor.

There are also tablets you can take but I find the creams work better and give relief.

You can get what you need to treat thrush over the counter from your chemist. I would go a cream.

Hope you get some relief soon

I had it for about 2 years constantly! You can buy a tablet (Diflucan) to take and also get cream for the itching (Canestan) I have also used the Canestan pessaries in the past which sometimes work better than the tablets. I think you can buy a duo pack of cream and pessaries. Good Luck!

You are not alone! I have bought over the counter Canesten cream (well the cheaper chemist band), bought Yakult from the shops (to drink) and I am not there yet, but I've heard that buying natural yoghurt and spreading that on a sanitary pad and wearing that can help reduce itching.

Hope you get better soon! The itching/swelling is horrible.

Heads up - make sure you read the instructions. Some recommend doing it just before going to bed otherwise it all just comes out. Lyong down gives the cream a chance to work inside you. You can also put cream on the outside as well but thrush is inside so it needs to go there to hopefully work its magic.

And there is no nice way of saying this, but your underwear might be a mess tomorrow. Probably not in the morning but once you are upright the cream will come out.
