I possibly would judge a pregnant woman who smokes...though not openly. I've never actually seen a pregnant woman smoke tbh. But I guess I judge smokers anyway...? Idk, I hate cigarette smoke but if its nowhere near me (ie. can't smell it) then I guess I don't really care? Its their choice not mine.

This. Although I would add that yes, I do judge. I was a smoker so I know how hard it can be. And yes I still judge. I don't apologise for it.
But I definitely wouldn't stare or comment. It's not my place to point out the bleeding obvious, a smoker already knows what it does to them and their baby in most cases.

In my last pregnancy I visited two hospitals, one for my own care and one for a check up after a car accident. Both times I saw massive amounts of nurses and other staff smoking, including at least one heavily pregnant nurse who was also drinking extra strength V drink . I know more than one healthcare professional that smokes. It's an insidious habit that I have struggled with for years. Maybe it's about time governments restricted tobacco around the world, not to restrict those that currently smoke but perhaps to make it harder or impossible to legally start smoking. Have every smoker apply for a licence and do not issue any more. I would hope that the money lost in taxes etc would be offset by the savings in the health system. But we all know that will never happen. Sigh.

Of course I judge a parent who is knowingly putting their child's health/life at risk. I think it is a selfish and disgusting thing to do. Yes, quitting is hard and yes, you don't know what they are going through but I don't really see what it is someone could use to justify smoking while pregnant! I also judge people who smoke around their children. I also stare, and generally discuss how horrible it is with the person I am with.

My DH works in health care, and I have never seen so much smoking and drinking as I do on a night out with those guys. Also, I work in a place where I have to review medicals that are done by people, and the only people who are honest about how many drinks and smokes they have are Nurses and doctors, and you should see the amount the put down. Most people say "2 standard drinks a year" (yeah right), one nurse put down 70 standard drinks a week. I almost fell of my chair!

No, I don't judge. I'm a smoker, and I'm one of the people who has been instructed not to quit cold turkey by health care professionals. Now I need to cut down slowly. The withdrawls put too much pressure on my body.

Four miscarriages later and a trip to the hospital last night and I'm inclined to agree.

So, at the moment I either get judged for harming my baby, or going against my health care professionals advice and doing something that I have been told has a high chance of killing it.

So nope, I don't judge. DF and I weren't TTC. I was in the process of quitting for myself when we found out I was UTD but wasn't quite there yet.

Honestly, if people feel the need to judge me and say anything about it, I'm probably going to laugh at them. Loudly and frequently. Then give them a piece of my mind and tell them exactly what I think of busy bodies who don't know the full story of things and just want to impose their unwanted thoughts on others and what should be done with people like that.

Sorry, but I don't think there is ever an excuse to be so rude, even if someone is doing the wrong thing.

Shoot me now but yes I judge and I judge harshly on this!
I am a smoker, have been for 15 years!!!!
I quit smoking the month before TTC and do not smoke all through pregnancy and then I do not smoke again until at least 9 months old or no longer breast feeding.
There are more important things in life than my ridiculous disgusting habit , my child's health comes first and foremost .
And I am a smoker , full time. Have not smoked for 5 weeks as we have just TTC as of last week so I believe I can judge as much as I want.
I do not understand at all what runs through an expecting mothers head when they hear the words you are pregnant! Quit then and there !! there are no effects on the fetus as it hasn't started feeding off your system yet!!!! Grr go ahead shoot me down I can't stand it

Granted you dislike it I think most here do and I haven't seen one person who did say they were proud Of it but are you saying you would actually verbalise your disgust direct to some random pregnant smoking lady?
