Default 6 wk post natal ob visit

What happens at this appointment and how long is the appointment time? Hubby is taking the morning off and wants to know timeframe for appointment...
Also, did anyone give their obs a gift of some sort for delivering bubs? Is there any etiquette on this???

My Ob did a physical examination and also did a Pap smear. It's an appointment just about you - he didn't check my baby at all. I didn't take my husband with me. We gave our ob a $100 Gold Class voucher to say "Thank you". It's certainly not expected, but we felt we wanted to acknowledge his great work and support.

My ob checked my c section incision to make sure it was healing nicely, we discussed birth control options and that was about it. Didn't take more than 15 minutes.

    I didn't give her a gift...

Your hubby definitely doesn't need to be there. Mine was pap test, blood pressure, chat about birth control, chat about returning to exercise, and i also got some blood tests done to check a few things like iron and vitamin d levels. It's really just a physical for you.

Quite quick, bp check, general chat about how everything was going, talked about contraception and then she checked DS over to see how he was going. She decided to wait a little longer to do a Pap smear. I felt ok only had three stitches but she made a time for 3 mths away. Think they are all different. I think if you had a private obs who was a great support a present would be a lovely idea.
