Default Fischer Price Convertible Car Seat?

    Hello,

I was considering buying one of these car seats for my second bub. I was just wondering whether anyone else out there has one? Is it good? Did you find the straps went high enough to accomodate a toddler also?
I currently have a GO Safe on loan from my SIL, the seat is supposed to do a toddler up to 18kg but the straps only go high enough to fit an 18month old at about 12 kg. Which is a really pain because they are not big enough for a booster either!!!
Just wondering whether anyone experienced these problems with the FP seat also. I might have to go and measure it at the shop!!

    Thanks

    Ellen

Thumbs down Give it a miss

I bought one four years ago ( still same design) and they do not suit a large baby. We managed to get to 14-15 months before having to but a maxi rider........these last from 6months- 7years.Brilliant but I'd give FP a miss. I will be buying another maxi rider when my new baby hits 6 months also. FP are designed for the compact car where space is limited.

I'm with Jen - Go the maxi rider!! They're pretty expensive but worth it!! Check out e bay if you want! Or find someone witha union shopper card, you get a great discount with those!

Thanks for your replies. I had a feeling that it wouldn't be big enough. I have been looking on ebay and have bidded on a few but always get outbidded at the end (those cheeky buggers that have that automatic bidding program!!!).
The only reason I thought about the Fisher Price one was because they were on special at Target for $199 reduced from $299.
The GO SAFE seat I have at the moment is exactly the same. Maybe I will put the new bub in the one I have (if possible, it is my SIL) and will buy a MAXI rider for DS. Do you remember how much they were approx?

    Thanks,

    Ellen

They are around $400 but they are great. Have a look on google or at babytarget online to check out the features. Well worth the extra $100 you'd spend on a normal carseat.

Hi,this is alora. The only problem you could face with a used car is with the way it was handled and if it has been in any major accident. However these are things which you can easily check out and ascertain for yourself before you buy it. If you inspect the car you can probably gauge only what is seen on the outside by you but for further investigation you can give the VIN number to Carfax and get a complete history of the car. This will tell you how many owners have been, what mileage the car changed hands at and all the repair work that was done on it so far.
