    Hi gorgeous girls,

Haven't had the chance to write in ages....and was busting at the seams too.

My dates have changed and I have been bought forward to exactly the same dates as Sunny so we will be in the clinic at the same time!

My left leg is hideous. I have some form of a cellulitis kind of infection. Not sure what has caused it, maybe a bruise, an ingrown hair (gross!), an insect bite, but it is getting worse and now about 7inches long. Have seen2 gps and a trip to the hospital. Done 2 courses of antibiotics, a blood test, cortisone cream and today an X-ray to see if it is attached to the bone which I doubt. Next will be an ultrasound and/or biopsy. Running out of time and needing it sorted.

Anyway, hi ho hi ho, it's off to SA we go!!!!!!!!!!

Hope you are all doing well.

Will catch up soon. Also, better get passports sorted!

    Donna

Hi Ladies, 10 days to go. Can't believe its almost here. Day 1 today!
i need some advice on meds. Doctor in SA is suggesting prednisolone 10mg, clexane 40mg, intralipid infiusion. Dr in OZ doesn't think I need any of this. I have def decided to take clexane but uncertain about prednisolone and intralipid. Does anyone have any advice on this? I'm so confused. Had one Ivf preg 5 yrs ago on clexane only and have done 20 transfers since then with no pregnancies on prednisolone. Would love to hear from those that are pregnant if they took prednisolone. I know it's personal so feel free to PM me. Thanks girls

Hi Abundance - for my last 2-3 transfers my FS over here put me on clexane - 40mg I think, baby asprin and predsinolone (5mg twice daily) and high folate. He thinks I may have had some implantation issues. I wasnt tested for NK cells but he treated me as if there could have been an issue there. I personally would take the predsinolone as I figure it cant help but believe the SA FS know what they are doing.

My last transfer worked before we were looking to go to SA - although I believe part of it is just luck and comes down to the embryo.

    Hi Girls

Wow, what a ride. William was re admitted and underwent emergency surgery for a pyloric stenosis. They seem to think that was th cause of the respiratory event. He is doing well and hopefully he can now thrive.

It is amazing that everyone is well on their way in their journey.

Donna and Crystal it is fabulous and exciting to see that your time is well an truly here.

Donna - Hope the cellulitis clears soon. What a pain!!!

Abundance - I threw everything at the cycle. I took Clexane, prednisone and my FS here gave me some Pregnly, although I am not sure how effective e Pregnly was as I was unable to keep it at a controlled temp due to the Joburg hotel refrigerator being on the fritz. Althought the prednisone is an awful drug, I wanted to give it everything. Good luck.

Jenilee - so wonderful to see you back in action. Go you courageous beauty!

BB4me - sending you special warm wishes and hoping your first few days in Cape Town are going well. May all your dreams come true. X

Laned, so glad William is doing well now!! My DS had a few heart issues and blood vessels were kinked going from his heart to lungs when he was born. It took some time to get him thriving but when he took off there was no looking back. He's now a 5'10 stocky 15 year old and you'd never guess he had problems Hang in there with William he will get there too

Abundance, I'll be taking 15mg of prednisolone, 40mg Clexane and baby aspirin along with high folate. I really think its worth it to give the full treatment a go

Donna, hope your cellulitis clears quickly, not just for SA but also so your feeling better!!

    Hi everyone

    Hi ladies

Donna you poor thing!! Hope you are healed soon.

Crystal4431 & other ladies on Bondi Protocol. I too am doing these meds. It's like going into the unknown. God I hope I don't grow another head from all the drugs! I am thinking - what the heck. Throw everything at this cycle. My poor backside & tummy don't respond too well to needles though.
Well I have jumped the role a tad ... We have our donor ready to go and I have my plan. I have also switched from Dr W to Dr L R as Dr W was going to be away. Phew it's been a lot of ups & downs with getting to this stage. Last time it was easy.
Good Luck to everyone there & going soon X

Happyheart, I didn't recieve my treatment plan until all tests were completed including the donor testing. It took about 5 days for the clinic to recieve the donor results and I then had my treatment plan within a day of that.

As for not getting a response, I bet they're waiting on donor results. Maybe someone else can offer more information but that was my experience. Its stressful I know

    Happyheart,

That is strange about the AMH testing, I didn't request AMH to be tested so I didn't deal with that side of things. with immune therapy I chose to use my doctor here because I figured CFC would only be seeing me for a short time and my doctor here would be seeing me longer. Other ladies do go through CFC but my history is long so I just thought it was easier to let my doctor here deal with that side of things. If your NK cells are slightly elevated maybe talk to your doctor about the Bondi Protocol?

I found there were a lot of emails until the donor was booked and the cycle was paid for and then everything went quiet but I think it was mainly because it was waiting on the donor to be tested. I was really stressed as well waitng on the treatment plan to book the flights and so DH could book his time off but as soon as the test results were back Dr. L R emailed my treatment plan Hang in there, its stressful but it will all come together

I spoke with a specialist regarding NK cell type protocols. I haven't had NK cell testing but based on results it is likely that I have immune issues. The specialist recommended that I do clexane, aspirin and I think prednisolone. I was told I could do intralipids as well but they were expensive and not as essential for a "maybe". I was also told that if I had a miscarriage with donor embryos it was far more likely that I had NK cells and would warrant further investigation at that stage. Apparently many who suspect NK cells but then get tested, don't actually have them so I was advised just to treat "just in case" and follow up with further investigations if warranted later. I'm not sure where the intrallipid process came from and exactly what role it plays. It is a long time since I researched it all. I hope everyone is going well.

I've just had my blood test results back and have sent them off and am waiting for my next step in going overseas. I hope people don't mind me being in this thread. I was looking into saving up for south Africa which would have taken me a couple of years but was lucky enough to get embryos overseas first.

For what it is worth, AMH testing is not the be all and end all. I know a couple of egg donors with an AMH well under 10 if not 5 with successful donations. I also know egg donors with an AMH of well over 30. this kind of result can indicate PCOS which means the eggs may be poor quality. A sad case recently of 20 eggs where only 1 fertilised and went on to a BFN. No previous sperm issues either. If AMH isn't available but the donor has successfully donated before, I wouldn't sweat not having an AMH test.
