    Hi ladies

How's the tww going crofty? Welcome kj1977!

AFM - AF arrived this morning, only a week late! I was starting to get severely cranky with the wait! So I've got my fingers crossed there is space in the group at westmead when I call tmw! I'll go mad if there isn't and I have to wait another month!

Naturopath went well, kinda. Apparently I have an under-active thyroid (even tho blood tests don't say so, he said they don't do the right test), which is why I'm struggling to lose weight, and apparently it affects the pituitary gland so I'm producing too much testosterone. He said this is why I have low amh and even if we did fertilise the testosterone levels would mean it doesn't stick - wish I knew that before the last cycle!!!!

So I'm now taking a concoction of gross smelling/tasting tonics to detox/kick start thyroid and get good eggs growing!

    Hi Chiefsgirl
Sounds interesting what the naturopath said, my TCM practitioner had lots to say about supplements and elements too, fingers crossed it works for you this time. Hopefully you can get in and don't have to wait any longer than you have too!
AFM, have managed to resist POAS again today..trying to hold out till Friday!
Crofty, how far pt are you? Are you POAS yet?? It's killing me not too!!
Have a nice evening all! KJ

Chiefsgirl, I'm sorry AF arrived so late. Why don't our bodies work as planned I hope the clinic can fit you in next month

Hi kj1977 Good luck with testing in a few days. I had no pregnancy symptoms (still don't and I'm 5wk2day today). I was totally shocked to get a BFP! So certainly it can happen. Thinking sticky thoughts for you

Hi chiefsgirl - my AF was late this cycle to!!!! Came the day before I was due to start FSH - so hopefully that's a good sign as I got 6 follies and 6 mature eggs from this cycle (which I consider a success as I'm a poor responder!!!) hope all goes well Hun

Kj1977 - I am early days in my TWW 5 day post 3 day transfer (double transfer was last Thursday) - I'm not a poas(aholic) I'm a scardicat!!!!! And in my 1st few cycles, I always got AF prior to poas day as I have a short luteal phase a so hoping that my bulked up 400mg pessaries do their thing and hold off AF!!!! I'll also add you to the role call

Twocam - when is your 7 week ultrasound booked for???

Wickets - my official poas is 29/5 still a while to go

AFM - well surviving to first part of the TWW crazies - been struggling with sleep as I've had to increase prednisone form 3 x tabs to 6 per day since transfer - and I've been waking up needing to pee early in the morning so very hard to get back to sleep (and a snoring dh doesn't help the situation - lol) - the highs and lows of trying to get a sticky one I guess!!! I ought it was too good to be true as I've read that prednisone can cause insomnia and increased urination - well, guess I've got both!!!! Oh well, rather this be working and ill sit on the loo all night and have power naps if I have too to get a mini me & or Mini DH!!!!!

    Happy Monday everyone!!!!

    Hi Ladies,
I hope its ok to post here. When Hubby and I found out IVF was our future I of course googled and googled and found this thread It was from this thread that we found out about Westmead and today we received our info pack...So the journey begins! I am just wondering if any of you ladies have any tips or inside info for me? Which FS is best, Do's and Don'ts I should know about, tests i may need to have before seeing the FS, any unexpected costs...anything i guess!
I hope you have all had a great Monday

Hey mammahwannabe a welcome!!! I hope your journey is shorted lived

By all means ask as many questions as you need a It does get quite overwhelming

The WFC website lists all fertility specialists (fs) (with pics) it really is dependent on how quick you want to get in and see an FS and whether you'd prefer male or female - you will get to know some of them through your experience with WFC as well as its a non for profic clinic so all procedures are not necessarily performed by your own fs - it's who is rostered on that particular day for egg pick and transfer. My fs is Dr Fong, and Dr Tong and Dr Melham (my darling husband (DHs) favourite - as he thinks she's cool) have done my egg pick ups/transfers and Dr Cerez-Magnae has performed my laparoscopy and hysterocopy and Dr smith recently performed my DHs sperm aspiration - so I've been through a few docs there - lol

My advise would be to call around the nefarious fs and see who you prefer and just ensure you get a referral from you treating GP with both yourself and DH as patients (for Medicare benefits) and once you have your 1st appt, you will more than likely be referred for an ultrasound for yourself, DH sent off for a semen sample and various blood tests for you both.

That's about it for now - good luck with your decisions and welcome again!!!!

Welcome kj1977 and mummawannabe!! you've come to a great thread. I dnt know what I would do without these girls.

I chose my FS as a friend of a friend recommended her. I foud with WFC what you see is what you get. Everything they said happened.. They were always supportive. And I've never had any unexpected costs dumped on me. As much as we all don't want to have to go there I have family that use other clinics and it makes me so glad I found WFC and one of my cousins is looking at moving over.

I hope your journeys with us are short. Xoxoxo
