Default why are Catholic primary schools so cheap?

Any reason why they are so cheap..? most around here (northside of Brisbane) are roughly $2000 a year or less. Pretty cheap for a private primary school..

Because they are subsidized by the Catholic Church.
Most of the very cheap ones I wouldn't class as high as proper 'private' schools though. Class sizes are often huge and the quality is often the same as public schools. You need to go take a look to see what they are like.

Yeah they are subsidised by the church and they also - generally - aren't run to profit.

Yep they're not actually private, they're 'independent'. Class sizes are often massive, and they are subsidised.

I agree with above. Also so that the parishioners in the area can afford to send their children to their school/parish therefore keep the catholic community together.

We pay $2500, well worth it. And I wouldn't say the class sizes are 'massive', there are 27 in each of our classes, so that's 5 more than the public 22 students. But we also get a teachers aid. And yes it's all subsidised.

We are so happy with our ds's catholic school. Classes aren't massive there either, each class has an aid also and each year has its own classroom even year 6 and 7 where the number of children are less than 12. For pre school it costs $650 for the year.
