TSStayPositive... good luck with your transfer on Monday xx

AFM.... we had our consult with our FS last week, and discussed a whole page of questions I'd had written down for him!! In the end we've planned our next cycle, and surprisingly are not going with the long, down-reg cycle, but going with a shorter cycle, as I had the most eggs on a short cycle, so the FS is keen to try that. We're going to stick with Menopur, as FS adamant that it really is the best for egg quality. We discussed using DHEA, but FS said he prefers testosterone gel that you rub in the back of your hand, so I'm giving that a go for four weeks before starting the next cycle at the beginning of July. I am happy to be doing some different things this time, in order to hopefully get a BFP next time. Interestingly, I asked about successes others have had with the same donor sperm as us - apparently three others have used it once each, but all BFN. FS said too early to discount it after just 4 tries (once for each of us), but I think it will be a question I'll raise again if the next cycle is a BFN too.
MGC Bertie - I know what you mean about lists of qu for FS! I had mine written on part of a chocolate box on Friday. That's great you have some direction for your next cycle. Interesting new protocol too. Aren't there just so many different ways of doing this?

Joviolet - sorry to hear about your abcess and embryo issues. Fingers crossed some of the embryos pull through. I understand they can grow at different rates. How will the abcess be treated?

AFM - I'm still a bit confused about the news that my cumulus cells were too thick. I did some research and found that these are the cloud like cells that surround the zona. But I can't find any information at all about these cells impacting negatively on fertility. So I'm concerned my FS doesn't actually know why the sperm couldn't penetrate the eggs (could be sperm/egg/chemistry etc) ... I'll ask the embryologist next cycle and see what their take is. A bit disappointing to invest so much in a cycle and not be able to learn as much as possible from it.

Just told my mil about our IVF and can't stop crying. Blah.

Awww Milly that damn crying just happens now and again doesn't it! Hope it was because of the situation you're in and not anything negative with MIL?

Joviolet that is such a rough ride - sending good vibes to your embies. On day 5 we thought our last emby wouldn't make it, but by day 6 it became a blastocyst and was frozen, so good things can still happen.

Sariele 12 eggs is an exciting prospect!

Trying2StayPositive welcome to PUPO. Safam when is your BT?

Oh Ally, I totally feel your pain. I am out this month and am dealing with the potential of being on warfarin and therefore out for another 2 months if this next result isn't better. It really sucks balls that we can't have what we want - and almost had, but for me, once I knew I was def out I put IVF to one side and got on with eating smoked salmon, hot dogs, soft serve ice cream, drinking wine, picking up dog poo etc. I feel like such a pregnancy rebel!! I haven't smoked for 9 years but half considered it the other day (after a few wines) just cause I am feeling like being naughty!!!

If you and DH are really ok with it, put it to one side and enjoy life for a few months. Enjoy not being stressed about every twinge and pain, and remember that a few months is nothing in the bigger scheme of things. I am also trying to check BH less to distance myself from TTC and IVF a bit.

I want to be as physically and emotionally well as I can be for my baby and I am taking this time to concentrate on that (apart from drinking like a camel and eating like a pig!!😄)

Ps. If you do decide to try I wouldn't worry about travelling in early preg. I did many trips to Asia and US in the first trimester with DH and had no problems at all.

Wishing you loads of good luck and speak soon no doubt.
    Bxxx

Joviolet - fingers crossed for you to get better soon so you can do a transfer!

AFM - Did my first Puregon injection last night, it stung a bit more afterwards than I thought it would, but nothing I couldn't deal with. The only problem is I have discovered they haven't given me enough Puregon! I am one dose short. The nurse told me when she gave me the drugs there there is extra Puregon in each vial but I can't remember how much, can anyone on here remember? I'll be giving them a call tomorrow to find out what's gone on. But having a little stress out about it right now.

It's been a bit of a challenge being in a different state to my clinic! I might see if the clinic in my home state can help out, they have been doing all my scans anyway.
Bettie - I was on 250 puregon, and I got 4 doses out of a 900 pen. Definitely quite a bit more in there than they say. Good luck!
