Yeah we are doing a full kareotyped of ourselves done and then consider testing our embies. Or winging it. Our reoccurrence chance is like 1% but still makes us nervous

    Hello there to you all

First post and a first time family to IVF.

Not sure about all the correct abbreviations to use, so forgive me if I ask questions or make silly mistakes

Hubby and I are travelling to New Delhi for our IVF treatment. We have a wonderful egg donor there we have already chosen. If successful, 5 day emby transfer will happen on 30th July. So we are JUST scraping in on the time line.

Got the list of meds we will need me on just yesterday and I start taking them on May 25th. Good luck and HEAPS of fertility fairy dust for you all.

Ally hun, karyotype is a good idea. Remind me why you and dh are doing ivf?
    Sorry bad memory.
Pls keep telling yourself 99% chance it won't happen again..99%.

Oddity access welcome...and don't worry about the July 30 thing lol
    We will be here!
Why are you headed for a donor os? Asking cause I'm starting to gather info about os donors. That's a big step and I'm sure its been a hard decision. Good luck!

We have male factor infertility. 97% of Dh's swimmers either don't have the acrosome or have a small one. This means that's when they reach the egg they either can't get in or get halfway into the egg causing both to die. So we need the magical ICSI in order for us to concieve. We have been lucky as far as getting pregnant goes I had an early mc and then Angus. So I can get pregnant which is a plus we just got bad chromosomal luck.

    Hi Sel

India was an easy choice for us. We were originally going to do Surrogacy in India using my own eggs, but found out I pretty much have none left! Gotta LOVE early ovarian failure. I also had my tubes done when I was 21, Im now 39.
Decided to wait a few years due to health issues and now here we are.

There isnt much about India and fertility treatment I dont know about in some way or other after 7 years of looking in to it.( In regards to laws, rules, many clinics, ethics etc.. just not meds and stuff arrrgh!)

I was told by 2 fertility specialist here in Oz to try and use my own eggs first, got 3 other opinions from different FS in Malaysia, Thailand and India. All agreed that I could TRY but they didnt recommend it.

So we are off and looking forward to hopefully a successful outcome. Our egg donor is 23 and already has 3 children of her own. So she is most definitely fertile and healthy. Leave it up to Science and Mother Nature now.

If I can help answer any questions about eg donation for over seas or stuff I would love to help out. Believe me, I will be asking you all questions too. Im pretty scared tbh.

Wow oddity, that is quite a ride. I was just wondering how you came to that decision without doing other things...but clearly you have! Im sorry life threw you a **** hand too.
Please ask away hun, we all have knowledge you can tap into any time. And being scared I think is very normal too!
And yep now is science and natures turn! Hope its a short ride for you from here! (Gosh fancy having 3 kids at 23! That makes me feel old )

Ally - aaaah. Reason I was asking was in terms of the genetic testing. Poor sperm quality is an indication for it. But they really can do great things with poor quality sperm if the eggs are ok. Good eggs seems to compensate for bad sperm and vice versa to a degree - so my FS says.
You have just got bad chromosome luck, but that doesnt mean all of your embies will be like that. I hope this next one is the ticket for you hun, it will be soooo well deserved for Angel Angus to have a brother or a sister.
    xx
