Welcome Tryingtostaypositive, Jaglij, Crimson, frances and Veritas.

Oddity-I get upset sometimes about the ET policies too. I know about all the risks and I have made the informed decision to transfer two. At my age it's not preferred but I don't want to still be doing this in ten years (kudos to the long term ivf'ers), and if a DET increases my chances of getting pregnant I'll take it. My second cycle last year I was given the ok but on the day I was told no as my bloods were elevated and the risk of OHSS was too high. My dr has put down one or two on my transfer consent for my next cycle.

Ally-great news on the DNA results. Take all the time you need, you will love all your children the same.

Bedlover I'm such a control freak and hate that I have no control whatsoever of this.

Wishnhope-good luck. After being told ivf was our only way to conceive, and two failed cycles I fell pregnant naturally. I hope you have the same luck.

Crimson-those are normal side effects of all pills, unfortunately.

Veritas-does your procedure have to be done under GA?? I have EPU with Endone, Panadeine, Diazepam and gas. It's plenty of pain relief and much easier recovery. I've tried to look back to see why you need ivf but to no avail.

9 pages in and it's already hard to keep up with everyone. For those of you I've missed I hope you're travelling well. I'm feeling much better today, thank you all for your kind words, this journey really sucks but you ladies make it so much more bearable.

WOW - there are already so many ladies in this thread and it's still May!!

Sad to see so many familiar faces in here, but nice to know we're all here together.. if you get what I mean!?

I was just reading through some of the signatures for ladies in this group - there are some tough cookies here, who have gone though a lot and I just wanted to say wow, my admiration for you and how you're still going is huge! I hope I can be so strong...I'm also hoping the next thread you join is one of those "expecting" threads

AFM - it looks like I'll be doing a FET in late July/early July, after a cancelled ET earlier this month (from my 2nd ICSI cycle), due to OHSS. Have seen so many positive stories from FETs so hoping I can add to the list!

Babydust to all - may this be our month!!

I like this idea. I like the phrasing, too. This is what the consent form ought to say. "I'd like to whack in two!"

I'm finding that the longer we spend TTC the more time there is to wonder if we can really cope with a baby (despite the fact that I've always wanted kids and never wondered that before). I'm concerned about the health risks with twins, but also if we could really cope with two babies. I think I'll ask FS for more info...I was so surprised at the time that I forgot to do that.

Excellent job with the list safam, sad there are so many names on it.
thanks to all that have welcomed me and given information. Update- I have seen the specialist and we aim to have our FET at the end of June, both excited and nervous and a tad worried that our embryos won't make the thaw as apparently they were frozen using older methods and not the more successful new way of letting them grow and freezing them on day 5. So fingers crossed they make it and are good ones.

You will cope fine with one or two babies. We woman are amazing creatures and it is phenomenal how we just make it work!! I was very much the career woman and was not one of these people who fell in love with my baby the second I saw it, but I quickly settled into it all. Mother nature has a way of just figuring it out. And if not we live in a great country with loads of support structures that can help out (plus there is always Bub hub!!).

My only concern with DET is health risk for mumma and bubbas as you mentioned.

I wouldn't worry about coping and just stay focused on your goals. X

Question ladies, and excuse my ignorance... What is a SET and DET!? I know FET but not the others!!

Also, anyone else with OHSS - did your second AF post ohss take forever or was it regular?? I'm only day 9 but already bored with waiting, lol!
