We buy most of our fresh groceries from Aussie Farmer's Direct and have done for several years.
Apart from milk and bread we also get our fruit and veges, cheese, yoghurt, butter, oil, meat, oats, muesli and muesli bars, eggs, pasta from them. I love their products and the convenience of it being delivered. As well as regularly buying the products we also donate a small amount of money weekly to help support Aussie farmers.

If I can I do, but I'm finding minus fruit and veg and meat, that pretty much everything is from overseas. I'll also be honest that if an aussie item is significantly more expensive I won't buy. We simply can't afford to pay double the price.

Same. All my clothes and DH and DS' clothes are from overseas. I even get my bed sheets and towels from the UK. The prices here are ridiculous!

We do buy local produce, meat and dairy though but that's just good sense.

It's cheaper to buy prawns/crab and a lot of fish from Asia , it's a far inferior product but it is cheaper , also just about any frozen fish/prawn/crab food is also from overseas for the same reason it's just cheaper - thankfully now by law all fish mongers have to state where their produce is from so its easy to check , I hate that they are even allowed to import it, it's such a shame as we do have the best seafood in the world I just wish people would buy more!

I never buy Asian seafood. I saw an exposé a few years ago about how they are farmed and they are pumped with so many chemicals and are really not good for you to eat. So apart from the fact I want to support the local industry, I also don't want to ingest gosh knows what chemicals!

All of my food is either Australian or nz made (I'm a kiwi by birth), I make a point of not buying foreign made, if local product is too expensive for me that week I go without.

Clothes, unfortunately I just can't find any locally made that I like or can afford (since I spend so much on food!).

    Agree.

Its such a shame coz our own seafood is easily the best.

I stopped buying the barra, just was really inconvenient coz had to trek to a diff shopping centre to get it.

And I dont huy frozen prawns just coz I like the fresh stuff. Doesnt seem rightbto buy it from the frozen section at coles when we can get it at the fish market.

We were down the south coast over Xmas and I went into the local fish shop that had a nice big sign over a crate of whole flathead saying beautiful Jervis Bay local flathead caught today $29.99kg - ( which is already $10 cheaper than what I pay in Sydney) which was great as I was after flathead tails, I went over to the counter where they had a variety of already filleted fish and saw they had flathead tails for $17.99 from Argentina!!!!! I actually said why would you sell Argentinian fish when you have them fresh outside your door and she just said its cheaper !

I buy fruit, veg, meat and eggs local. But everything else, I'm ashamed to say - I get the cheapest. I wish it didn't have to be like that, but right now we have one income to feed 6 people, and it is tight.

I hate what is happening to Aussie manufacturing, there were talks simplot was going to go under, but they've just signed a 5 year deal with coles own brand, which means from now on - coles own brand will be Australian grown and packed too. Good news for those of us who need to buy the cheapest and feel crap about it.
