    Default When/How to tell people

    Hello fellow IVF peeps,

I'm 6 weeks along (scan in 3 days wohoo!). The main thing I'm struggling with the the moment is that since a LOT of people (due to work commitments/work gossip/family gossip) know I was going through IVF, they know the time line about when I should be getting some results and have been driving me nuts about it. Ideally I would like to wait until 12 weeks, but I feel as though I'm flat out lying to people and I'm running out of excuses.

    Any words of wisdom??

Just be honest and say that if and when you have something to announce you will. No need to make excuses, me telling people that got me through many cycles

    Hey Bamca,

Congrats!!! I am sorta in the same boat! Am on my 1st cycle and in the 2ww... I am finding that being honest is the best thing. I have told people, yes I have had a transfer but I will not be telling anyone if/when I am preggers until 12wks. All have understood so far... I figure they are gonna work it out anyways but i just wont be officially telling them!

    Good Luck

I had the same problem when we first found out we had to have IVF I was so disappointed I didn't want to tell anyone then weeks later I accepted it and I told close friends, family and my boss. My boss as I work Fulltime I new my roster would be all over the place when doing IVF round. In a way I'm glad I told her and my supervisor as they were so supportive but I felt that after I finished the first round that I didn't want to tell anyone if I got preg till 3 months when I did get preg but as they kept asking when I would know so I felt I had to tell them very early on that I was pregnant. Ah either way is difficult. Hmm it is hard I have even thought when we go for bub 2 whether to be as honest or not it had good points especially with work but also bad.
