    Default Getting liquid into bub

    Hi All

My 7 month old DD has been drinking less and less from her bottle this week and I'm currently struggling to get more than 450mls into her a day. She's not having much water either. She prefers to chew on to the teat rather than drink. I'm ordering whether this is a phase in relation to teething or whether I should start to be concerned. She's going really on solids and is still a very happy baby but I'm starting to worry about her fluid intake. Any advice please? TIA

I have a friend in a similar situation and her DS is chowing down food and gaining good weight so she's been told not to stress too much about the amount of milk he's getting.

My DD (7.5m corrected) went through a phase as well just recently where she was rejecting bottles - I increased her solids and added porridge and fruit for breakfast and some more finger food snacks late morning, and she seems more satisfied plus she's gone back to drinking her milk! I think her fussiness about her milk was her cry for more solids.

For us it also coincided with teething.

Thanks for your reply. I did eventually manage to get some milk into her yesterday but it was a bit of a challenge. If she was drinking a lot of water I wouldn't be so concerned but she's not. I do think she's teething so I will just keep an eye on it for now. It's good to know my DD isn't the only one doing this.
