    Hi,
Please tell me how long did you wait for Carer Allowance from the time you handed out the forms?

I was denied at first, and then I had to put in some more supporting documents and was approved, it took about 11 weeks all up.

Lucky you, I'm still waiting and it's been almost 7 weeks now. Still no HCC, no money. I rang Centrelink an hr ago and they told me they have lots of applications to process so I have to wait...Not happy!

I think I was exceptionally lucky, I received one more SPP payment after handing in the forms then the next payment was Carers Payment.

You will be back paid on the amount but if you need it urgently for medical expenses then you can always ring the complaints section of centrelink. You'll find they'll process it pretty fast then.

I'm not really desperate for money but they had up to 48 days to process my claim and it is not going to happen! May I ask if they back paid you for 12 weeks? Was it from the time you contacted Centrelink or from the time you handed out the forms?
