ICSI is the same as IVF. but they inject a selected sperm into an egg, rather than the traditional IVF method of putting both parts into a dish and letting the sperm penetrate the egg on its own. Generally used in situations where the sperm has poor motility and low count.

We're going for ICSI too due to low count & poor motility - really it's a miracle at all we've got anything happening since it was 15 years between DH's vasectomy & when he had it reversed last year.

Had lots of testing done today & I'll be starting my tracking cycle next week when AF comes. Everything going to plan we'll be able to start maturing eggs in July

    How is everyone doing?

I hope everyone is doing okay and that maybe June can be all of our months :-)
I am currently CD44. Too scared to test as don't want another negative. I think it will shatter me if I test and get a negative so just waiting for AF to arrive. I have a few symptoms but trying to not think about it too much. If AF doesn't arrive by CD50 I shall test. If AF does show it's ugly face then I will be straight to the docs for a referral to FS. It would be good to get a BFP though as it would be exactly 1 year since TTC that we would of fallen and that means we would of conceived around our wedding anniversary

    Channy
I hope that little one is sticking!!

AFM we've had some amazing news our IVF talk and compulsory counselling were booked for the second week of my july cycle (so id have to wait till the aug cycle to start but we're away in Aug for holidays and DH's fifo so it would push us into Sept) as you can imagine wasnt happy! BUT I had a big complaint to the clinic and they've managed to squeeze us in to the end of June so I can start in July!!! So freaking excited!!

That's great Wish! Glad they could fit you in

AFM - Waiting patiently for AF to arrive so I can start my tracking cycle - probably be Tues or Weds. Although I'm definitely not keen on having to do bloods and ultrasound every other day!

Can't book anything in until I start AF, so we'll just have to wait and see at the moment. Because I don't have any previous issues and everything seems to check out ok they're happy to skip over a couple of tests so we should still be good to go July or August.

Had a "hypothetical" chat with DH the other day. If we are successful and we get some frosties, we'll store them for 18 months and if we decide to stick with one baby (our current plan) then we will offer them for the donation plan. Apparently the waiting list for donor embryos is about 5 years - to me, giving a little bit of us to fulfil the dream of someone else having a child is worth so much more than simply destroying something which has been so hard to make.
