    Unhappy Horrible anxieties!!!

    Hello all!

    i haven't been on here in donkeys years but am at my wits end so I thought I'd jump up and see what other people can say to hopefully help!!

    I've suffered panic attacks for at least 15 years so I'm use to them and have been taking rivotril to control them the only thing is now my partner and I are wanting to try for a baby so I need to come off them. I've done this before and it was ok but our son who is nearly 4 has autism so needless to say my anxieties are through the roof!!! I'm seeing a new gp and also a new psychiatrist but I kinda feel like they aren't listening when I speak! They've put me on seroquel and allegron and they aren't helping at all and my panic attacks have gotten that bad I'm kinda becoming home bound which isn't a good thing!!

    just looking for someone to chat to as they told me that I should start to feel better within 4-5 months

    Aww I have no experience but I saw this thread with views and no response. Hopefully this bumps it up for someone who is more useful to come in.

    Have you seen a psychologist? Or does your psychiatrist do therapy as well as medications? There are some good therapy treatments that you could find helpful (interoceptive exposure with cognitive behavioural therapy) especially if you want to reduce or stop medication for pregnancy. If you want to go down the therapy path I would try finding a psychologist who specialises in anxiety to give it your best chance.

    Low potassium can cause panic attack and anxiety like symptoms. Long periods of stress can zap your potassium. Also lung problems like cyst or abscess on lungs can cause symptoms that have panic attack like symptoms. they are just two different things that can cause panic attack symptoms which my doc never told me were possible, they all just quickly labelled me with panic attack problem.
    I'm sure not your case but thought I would share.

    I stopped drinking coffee and took vitamins and used the techniques my nurse taught me to cope with attacks and how to recogise triggers. Being preg was the best I felt mentally ever.
