Heyside. How did your 2ww go?
Afm af showed today so no luck here this time. Hoping for next month
Hi pinklinkin, I have had a horrible couple of months with this ttc, last month I found out I hadn't actually ovulated at all but luckily af showed up so I was able to get going straight away again. The fs upped my dose of injections to 100 to improve the cycle but unfortunately a cyst measuring 5cm appeared mid cycle so I had to stop injecting, I still triggered a few days later hoping I would ovulate anyway but I don't think thats the case. I have been spotting for the last four days and only only cd22 so thinking my body has just given up. We have been discussing moving onto IVF so we are going to discuss that with our fs at our next appointment. Sorry af turned up for you too hun, good luck for next month.
Heyside - im so sorry the last couple of months havent gone so well. I hope things do turn around for you. When is your next appointment?
Thanks. I am hoping too. I am finding it tough with my cycles being different lengths each time and knowing when i am ovulating. Trying to use all the signs and i just hope im getting it right. I eill be due for af anywhere from next week so
Hi I know it's been a while since I last posted. Thought I would update and ask for some advice/support. I've lost nearly 15kg since starting my ttc no 2 journey, which hasn't been easy. My doc told me losing 5-10% of my body weight would help start ovulation and regulate my cycle. I've lost more than 10% of my body weight and my cycles are longer than they have ever been. So back to the doc, he urged me to go on the pill to regulate my cycle in preparation for clomid in three months. I'm also on metformin 1500mg daily, have been since the diagnoses earlier in the year. Has anyone else been put on birth control pills when trying to conceive? It seems strange to me but I trust my doc. Just wondering if this was a commonplace thing to do.
pinklinkin - Thanks for the support, quick question for you hun do you definitely know you are ovulating even though you get af each month seen as they are so unpredictable? Have you had progesterone BT to check?
HaoN - Congratulations on loosing the 15kg hun such dedication and strong will. I am regularly put on the pill to regulate my hormones before starting a month of treatment, unfortunately for me it feels like one step backwards but it is for the best as my LH sky rockets and gets out of control and the pill seems to reset my system again.
AFM - We have taken the next step and started to move onto IVF, my fs suggested adding LH injections into the mix but that would cost an extra $300 and he wasn't confident that that would do the trick. So we decided we were much better off investing our big bucks into IVF. I have an ultrasound this week and DH has a sperm analysis before we have an appointment at the end of August and hopefully we can get started in September.
Hello, i'm not sure where to post so I thought I would start here. Hope that is ok. I have a 15mnth DD and I am hoping to start my TTC journey for #2. I have PCOS and after no luck trying for #1 for 2 years ended up going to see Lynn Burmeister and went on clomid for 3 round. We conceived DD on round #3. So I am still BF although my periods have been back for about 6 months, however they were regular at 21 days but very light and short. My last cycle however was 54 days! (although the last couple have been a more normal flow) So anyhow, what to do now and how long do I give it?
I know my external PCOS symptoms are quite bad at the moment and I am overweight and struggling to loose my baby weight still. But the fact I am having periods and fairly regular is giving me hope. We haven't really started TTC yet but hope to this month.
WWYD? Give it till Christmas and then ask for a referral back to the specialist? I hear the wait for Lynn is pretty ridiculous now. Ask my GP to go through a clomid cycle with me? I was only on half a tablet last time and understand I can only do 6 cycles in my lifetime. My DH is 40 this year and I really want no more than a couple of years between if I am lucky enough to have another.
Any tips on temping? I have tried it before with no sucess as well as LH tests, the only thing that guaranteed O was BT's.
Argh....why can't it be straightforward?? My total lack of Libido really doesn't help...but I am thinking that is a symptom of my PCOS as I am generally tired all the time. Any Advice would be most welcome.
Hi MINIRoo welcome to the thread, things are a little quiet around here lately so sorry its taken a while to reply to your message. I hope you journey to ttc no.2 is a short one and you overcome your PCOS quite easily to get your bfp. Its great news that you are actually having periods, lets hope that's a great sign and maybe you are ovulating this time around. Its hard to tell you how long to leave it until you ask for help, I actually had a very supportive GP who I went to speak with at the beginning of our Journey for no.2. He said from the beginning that I would probably need help again as I needed injections to conceive DD but he was willing to do day 21 blood tests for me each month at the start to see what was going on. Maybe your GP would do something similar and then you can assess where you are up to, I think it would be a good idea to get things started asap even if you put off seeing fs until a few months in. I did try temping at the beginning with my GP but when I finally saw a fs 5 months after starting to ttc he told me my cycles would probably be too erratic for it to be of any use (by this point though I had none existent cycles). One thing to be aware of though with temping is temperatures must be taken first thing in the morning before any movement out of bed, this can be very difficult though with a little one in the house as sometimes I would be up and down with DD through the night which would effect everything lol so turned out to be pretty pointless. Good luck with everything hun x
Haon - well done on losing 15kgs. It certainly isnt easy so you have done well.
Heyside - good luck with the ivf. i hope it happens quickly.
I havent had a check to see if i am ovulating this tine round. I have wondered though if i might not be. Hubby and i had discussed it and decided to try without any medical help or blood tests to check if and when i ovulated haha. But i think it could be time to reconsider that.
Miniroo - welcome!! And good luck ttc. Are you on metformin? It could help with the weight loss struggle. I struggled with weightloss until i went on it.
So I think I've decided to give it 2 months and then I'll go to my GP and see what she says. I've been tracking my cycles which are a bit all over the place but fairly regular for me. Considering I've gone years without one! Anyhow were gonna BD every other day until AF shows up! for DH.....
I was on Metformin pink linking previously but as I'm pretty sure I have no insulin issues it had no effect. I'm pretty sure I do have some sugar issues of some kind as I can loose weight if I give it up totally but it's so hard. I did manage to before getting pregnant but during pregnancy my main craving was sweet things and I caved so I'm back to square one and plus some!!!
I think I might try some digital opks next month.....
