On 3rd day of clomid at the moment - I think I had a small bout of this last month too. Has anyone else had similar? I can't remember it happening before last month, but this month is so much worse. Same dose and it's half what I used to take when TTC#1.
I had this with clomid. I felt so nauseous, it was awful. What time do you take your tablet? I would take mine right before bed, in the hope that I would sleep through most of the side effects. I suppose the only good thing about clomid, is that you only have to take it for a short time. I find FSH has less side effects, but it's not fun injecting, and you have to do it for a lot more days than clomid. Good luck, you're nearly there!

Violethope - I have no monitoring this month although my ob usually does a scan at 10-12 days but he is away at the moment and I also don't think he is worried about me having too many follicles due to me not ovulating on clomid. So just a 21 day blood test for me. All sounding good so far for your cycle which is great news, fingers crossed they find good size follicles on your scan. Out of interest how long do you normally take before a trigger with your FSH injections, I remember my cycles being very long and it took ages for the follicle to reach a good size.

Chunkydunks - I have been told that about waiting for full flow too so I would say you are on CD3. My doctor also told me if full flow starts after 12 noon then to count CD1 as the following day (too much to remember lol).

ProudMumma - I have never of heard of provera being used in that way, interesting to hear. Sounds like you need some explanation as to how it is to be used then, hopefully you get the info you need from the clinic.

Little Ted - Hopefully your sickness is over soon, clomid never worked for me and I had no side effects at all so hopefully having side effects means it's doing what it needs to do in your body.

The chemist explained it to me kinda but I was at chemist warehouse and the waiting area was tiny and heaps of ppl were waiting there so I didn't want to discuss my period too much. The hospital I go to can be a bit weird. I don't like my chances of being able to leave a msg for a doc. *sigh*

Hi all! We are ttc 1 but there are so many similar issues here I thought it a good place to post we have been ttc nearly 3 years now, and I have Pcos. I am and always have been healthy weight but there is a history of insulin resistance in the family so I'm on metformin. I am just at the end of our 12 th Clomid cycle, the last three with injections. AF due by the 9th and I'm going crazy waiting! If this doesn't work we start ivf in august the last two cycles with injections I have frustratingly developed in the last week before my period lots of pregnancy symptoms but no pregnancy! they r sore breasts and nipples, uterine cramping, mild nausea (no vomiting) and sensitivity to smells. I don't usually get any of these with AF. I'm getting all of these again with this cycle but have learnt not to get my hopes up. I guess I just feel like I'm losing hope entirely and that the treatments may never work. Any advice? Thank u for all ur support!

Welcome Ka22Wo 12 clomid cycles?! How awful!! I did two that didn't work and my specialist moved me to FSH injections. It sounds like your having pregnyl injections? They are yucky. They are pregnancy hormones, that's why you feel pregnant. It's a very cruel process. Are you seeing a fertility specialist? I would think you'd have other options between clomid and ivf? Best of luck.

Heyside, my clinic does heavy monitoring. So if the dose isn't getting my follicles up to size, they increase it. The longest I've injected is 14 days. I'm currently on 100 unit dose. I have blood tests and scans every couple of days from CD 10.

Thank u so much for ur response Violethope! It makes sense now that I get the pregnancy symptoms with no pregnancy. I've been working with my obgyn so far but now that we have really tried enough with intercourse he is sending us for ivf. We r really lucky in Sydney we have a public ivf clinic at royal prince Alfred so we start there in August.

With the injections my obgyn does an ultrasound on day 10, 11 or 12 to check how things r going and then tells me when to inject based on how long the cycle is. No blood tests or anything.

Good luck with this cycle, fingers crossed for ur bub #2!

Thank you - I've never felt this wretched on it before as I've always had little to no side effects. I take the tablet in the morning - only one more to go now for this cycle. I'm not getting the side effects until about 3pm and it goes through the night - I fell asleep on the couch last night, and when I first woke I felt better but by the time I'd brushed my teeth it was all back again. I'm hoping it works too - I've ovulated the last two months, but still no baby so it has me concerned as I have to do another lap if this one doesn't work.

ProudMumma - Understand you not asking too many questions in the chemist, not the easiest topic of conversation lol! Hope you get some answers.

Violethope - Yes my clinic was the same with FSH injections, I remember increasing the dose quite a lot but I had to inject for over 20 days (I obviously didn't react as quickly as some people)

Ka22wo - So sorry to hear that you have been through so much, hope that things improve for you guys soon. 12 cycles does seem a lot with clomid, I presume you must be ovulating but just dont catch the egg? Have you thought of trying IUI before IVF or is that not an option? Great news about the public IVF though!
