Swede, I'm hearing you on the intense emotions, has been the same at our place Makes for such an overwhelming experience when you have waited for them so long and worked so hard to bring them into the world. When do you go home? Love to see a pic when you have time xx

Crofty, 12 week scan on the horizon Those milestones will start flying by soon, I found the 1st 12 weeks the longest.

Rubee, how are to going with your cycle???

Nessie, I believe you are moving overseas? Wow, what adventures ahead for you guys! When do you go?
Simpson, August is nearly here! How's the prep going?

Littlefeet, good on you for starting the secondary infertility thread I hope it is able to offer you some comfort amongst others facing a similar situation

AFM, we were going great guns but had a little set back late last week. Allegra developed a high temp and we ended up at the kids hospital for 48 hrs for observation and antibiotics. Because she is so little she had to have a full septic work up to find the source of the infection which included a lumbar puncture which was incredibly distressing for me Thankfully nothing too sinister was detected and seems she picked up a viral infection from DH or I (we'd both had colds) which was a bit much for her little immune system and then on top of that staph was detected on her skin likely picked up in the hospital. Thankfully she is well again now and we are back at home.

Starfish how frightening for you! I'm so glad she is okay and back home and the temp has gone down. You must be so busy, in a GOOD/WONDERFUL way. Does it seem real yet?
Swede it sounds as if those hormones are in high gear, you poor thing. I know it couldn't possibly be the same, but I remember seeing the mountain gorillas in the wild in Africa once and just bursting into tears because I was so overwhelmed with beautiful, amazing feelings. It took my breath away, and I can imagine Isabella is stirring up the same things in you (but I'm not comparing her to a gorilla by any means )
crofty how are you going love? In answer to your questions, no I've never had a bfp or miscarriage, so I don't have any history to really draw upon. Everything feels like new territory.
Following on from that, I'm all over the place at the moment. Got my BT today and am due to ovulate tomorrow and they said come in for transfer on Saturday. It's only a two day embryo so I was questioning why it wasn't happening on Friday (day 2 post ovulation) and the nurse was quite put out that I should question things, just saying that day 3 was optimal. My cycle is 24 days on the dot, so given it's quite short I'm worried that the implantation window is smaller than usual and timing is very important. I insisted on speaking to the embryologist tomorrow and have asked the FS to call me too.
There's been no talk of getting an ultrasound prior to transfer to measure endometrial thickness etc and map the uterus, so I want to push for that as well. I know the 'soil' environment is almost as important as the 'seed' when it comes to successful planting Am I overthinking things?
I just feel like once again they're not looking at this as an individual case and are following standard procedures

Rubee, quick one for me as I'm multitasking but couldn't not respond. This kind of thing gets my hackles up as a veteran of 3 clinic and 10 or so cycles. I definitely don't think you are over thinking it, particularly with all you went through to address the fibroid and I can only agree on the importance of the 'soil'. It delayed my treatment by about a year because it wasn't right.

Ask all the questions that you need to fully understand what is happening with your cycle. You may not always get the answer you are hoping for but in my experience better to be as informed as you can be and to take an active role in your treatment. Good luck today!

Starf1sh- such a relief that Miss A has recovered quickly and is back home. Must have been terrifying heading back to hospital so soon after her birth. Glad to hear all is well on the feeding front and that you've had time with your lovely sis and her family. How wonderful that you can enjoy motherhood together and have someone to learn tips & tricks from . My prep is going well thanks. Last 3 days of dex, then switching to pred. Darn steroids make me ravenous so controlling my food intake is hard! I do hope hanging out here will be a lucky charm . Usually I join a thread and watch everyone else graduate... good news for Rubee and Hoping .

Rubee- you have waited so long for this transfer, so stand up for yourself and insist everything is perfect. You are not overthinking things! I'm only doing ovulation monitoring this cycle and my clinic sent me for a scan, I wouldn't consider going in for FET without one! Don't be afraid to be the squeaky wheel and ask a million questions, your frostie is too precious to be put back in a non-optimal environment. I hope you were able to have a productive chat with your FS and the embryologist, and get it sorted out.

Swede- I so loved reading how overcome with emotions you are looking at your miracle baby girl. I hope she is being a little angel for her Mummy!

Crofty- I wrote to you in the Syd thread, so just hello again here

    Hi to everyone else.

AFM- been up early every morning this week & going to the clinic for ovulation tracking. 3 BTs and one US so far, and yet another BT tomorrow! Yesterday's scan showed a 17mm dominant follicle and today's BT indicated the LH surge has begun, so I'm almost there. Once we have O date, they'll book me in for the scratch biopsy at 7-10dpo. I'm freaking out that this time next month I'll be days away from FET... OMG!

Thank you for your words of support Starfish and Simpson.
After some negotiating they agreed to a scan very early Friday morning, before the thaw begins for a Saturday transfer. If all is good with my lining etc, then they'll go ahead with the thaw and transfer will happen next day.
At first she was saying a scan immediately before transfer would be sufficient, but I argued that by then the embie would be thawed and committed to a transfer.
    Nessie
where are you going and when?? It sounds exciting!!
Simpson good luck with all the prep this month for a transfer next month

Hi everyone...I been starting to write about 10 times and then had to cancelled and go...LOL

Starfish - how scary for you with Allegra and the hospital...when they are so very tiny...yikes!!!! Glad she is better now...phew!!!

simpson - how exciting..getting closer for you transfer...hope the scratching goes well for you...have you done that before???

Crofty - not far off now for your scan..... whooo

Rubbe - hope your lining is good and everything will go to plan for your transfer tomorrow....I will keep everything crossed for you...
    BTW...LOL with the gorillas...

Thank again for everyones nice words...
Miss I is a very good sleeper...to a point that I am getting worried....I tend to wake her up for feeds....she do not sleep very good on her own but cuddling up she seems to sleep all the time...in saying that she is now asleep in her cot.....
I am having the early child hood centre nurse here later on, so I will make sure Isabella is ok. I am very proud to say that so far I am only doing breastfeeding, no formula as of yet and at last midwife visit Isabella wasnt far off her birthweight....All my hard work with antenatal expressing has paid off....I am still taking fenugreek tablets (to increase milk supply) plus motilium (on script) for increasing the supply as well.

here is a pic from Tuesday...

Swede, she is just DIVINE!!! Thanks for sharing. Love that newborn sleepy stage, we've just hit the 3 week mark where they apparently wake up and Miss A was right on cue!

Simpson, things are well and truly underway and doing the tracking this month sounds like it has been very reassuring for next month. I'm fairly confident you will be burning off any extra calories Action Woman

Rubee, good on you for sticking to your guns with the clinic and getting the information you needed to feel confident going forward. Hope all went well today and by tomorrow you will be PUPO!!!

Oh sweede I just want to eat her!!!!!! Isabella is sssoooooo cute - how's Archie going with her??? Being a good big brother I hope 😜

Starfish - I can't believe Allegra is 3 weeks already!!!!! How scary for you and DH to have to go through that ordeal with her at such a young age, poor little darling, I hope she's on the mend now xoxoxo

Rubeedoo - hope scan for lining went well today and your ready for transfer tomorrow- all the very best and were all cheering for you!!!!

Hey Simpson, haven't caught up on Sydney thread yet, that's funny about your steroids - I didn't get hungry (I am now) but I out that down to wanting a taste in my month constantly as I always have a bad taste/feel nauseous

Milliegirl, thx for the kind words hope your well 😄

Hey there lochnessie - yes there has been some well deserved BFPs and miracle bubs of late on this thread, it's great to see and here's to many more success stories coming soon!!!

    Hi to everyone else 😄😁😜

Afm - nearly 12 weeks!!!! Can't believe it (well yes I can cause I've been counting everyday and it feels like 20 weeks, I thought the TWW went slow- this 12 weeks thing is unbelievable!!!!!) we told my dads side of the fam last weekend at my uncles party - there were lots of tears and for the first time from me - my whole family knows what we've been through with IVF and they are over the moon!!! Most of my mums side already know as I let my mum tell them (she was iching to tell someone as this has been a long time coming and will be the 1st grandchild!!!!) as her sisters are in WA and Canberra so they're safe with our little secret!!! I don't know if its the medication or what but I seriously look about 4 mths pregnant, maybe it's all the food I'm eating - lol nut I haven't put it on anywhere else and my b00bs aren't getting any bigger (their big enough normally) still no pain in them either - which is really weird - well, I guess we're in for a cold wet weekend here in Sydney, perfect time to snuggle up in bed and relax all weekend with DH and our fur babies!!!!

Swede she is just beautiful!!! Easy to spot the professional photographer That photo looks as if it belongs on the wall.
to everyone else. I have some bad news and just wanted to let you know. The embie didn't survive the thaw, so no transfer for me. I'm still trying to process it but there's nothing that can be done now.
I was all booked in for early tomorrow and got the call at about 3 today. I knew they would only call me if it was bad news at that point, so the minute I saw the number my heart sank.
I'm kind of glad I didn't tell too many people, just two (aside from you lovely ladies) because I fall apart when people sympathise, but can hold it together otherwise.
I've been planning a caravan trip from September onwards when my work contract finishes, so I'm looking forward to getting away, getting some perspective and just breathing deeply and healing.
The clinic was all ready to start talking about the next cycle but I just put a halt to it. I really need to consider if I want to put myself through it all again, and time away should help me decide.
I'm okay and will bounce back

Oh Rubee, I'm so sorry and so disappointed for you, especially after all you put into this cycle. It just isn't fair

Here for you when you've had time to regroup and consider your next move. A trip away sounds like a great plan xx
