Hahaha my MIL asked at 13 weeks if I was finishing up soon! I am now 21weeks and she keeps asking and saying I should finish up soon! She was horrified when I said I might work up to 36-38 weeks!
I tried to make her deal that if she paid my wages between now and then, I would finish up now.... She didn't seem keen on that idea!

Yep I've seen them, unfortunately they were out of our current price range. DP works for himself and has not had much income for about 2 mths so money is a little tight. The ones I have found will be fine I hope

It could be due to 2 reasons, if it's due to a particular condition they think DH has, we have a 1:2 chance of a heart condition. If its a congenital heart condition it's 1:33.

Another 5 weeks of keeping everything crossed....
Will continue to keep everything crossed for you. Hope the 5 weeks go quickly.

Can we trade? My MIL is 67, raised her 2 boys on her own whilst working full time after her husband died very young and is a tough bird. I just hate that because she did it tough she expects that I should as well.

Toni - I agree on the price range, it's ridiculous! I personally will not spend that much money even though we could afford it as I just see it as a waste, lots of other cheaper brands are just as good and to be honest 95% are made in china regardless!!!!

:/ sorry love - all yours! Mine is a very, very opinionated lady and DH is her youngest child and only boy, so she is very much apart of our life. However I made it very, very clear a year into our relationship that I am top woman in my house! Lol... We have never had an issue since! She tries every now and then, but DH and I are so like minded, that she can't try anything! Lol
I do know that I am very lucky to have a MIL I get along with. So I am very sorry your MIL is such a tough nut
At least she doesn't live in the same town as you!

Waiting- I really hope the next scan and tests goes well for you and little bub. You waited so long to conceive this little one, just hoping he or she is ok.

Yep we were quoted $300 from lady at the markets for 12 MCN with inserts. I just got 30 MCN with 30 inserts for $110 on ebay and lady to do the velcro will do for nothing. There is a lot of stuff we are getting second hand or cheaper simply because we can't justify the cost of things.

Not only not in the same town but in a different state, 3400km away or 3 plane trips. I will have words next visit if she tries to take over. She is also a highly recognised child maternal health nurse who specialises in breast feeding. DP can't understand when I say that I will not discuss my boobs with her, anyone else on the planet I will talk about boobs, not my MIL!

Congrats rainbow road on getting the house u want!!

Waiting I have everything crossed for your for the next 5 weeks.

Tonis I entertained the idea of mcns but when I saw the price I couldn't do it especially cos I'm not sure if I would like them/use them (lazy here) I know they will save u money in the long run but still.
Can't remember who it was that mentioned the baby jogger city select (sorry I am on my phone ) I have one and LOVE it! Also just discovered they make the glider board for the back which I'm sure my ds will love!

Ugh mother in laws.....mine is very competitive....with EVERYTHING she nit picks ds and I'm sure she is trying to show me she can parent better she also races me to tell him off or pick him up if he has fallen over.... He is very quickly becoming standoffish with her oh and she lives over the back fence

Sorry I cant remember much more I am totally beat and got told that I look it constantly today.... Off to have a good night sleep.......I hope

Good luck with your next scan Waiting. I have everything crossed that bub is perfect.

MCNs are definitely expensive, I have only been buying them when they are on sale.

As for MILs, mine is in another state. She means well, but manages to drive me nuts. When it came to buying everything for bub, she told us constantly what we did and didn't need (most things we dont need). Things we did need she told us we could buy after bub is born (great idea lets wait til our income drops and then start buying). And she told us that our baby will be good looking cos all her family are good looking (I took offense to that cos in not exactly ugly, and don't completely agree that all her family are good looking). I'm trying to prepare myself for the comments when bub is born about how much she looks like that side of the family. When I told her I was working til 37 weeks, she said I wouldn't be allowed to.
