MCB- I’d definitely be calling the GP and just asking them to write the referral and fax straight to birth centre as that kind of delay could cause you not to get a place. The one I am going to is really hard to get into, have to practically book in before you’re pregnant! Hope your mum’s operation goes well today. It’s horrible having someone to close in the hospital.

Lil Smurfy- Lactulose syrup is safe in pregnancy. I actually had some this morning. Tastes fine. I’m glad you enjoyed hypnobirthing class. Yeah the birth breathing rather than pushing takes some getting your head around as we’re all conditioned to think we have to push. I agree with banning pregnant women watching OBEM! Just increases the fear factor I think.

Rainbow- hope you get the house! I know how stressful applying for rentals is, especially when pregnant. Sorry you didn’t sleep well. I have that sometimes too and feel so awful the next day!

Toni- sorry you’re not well! Hope you feel better soon.

MrsLA- glad the tests are still strong and showing good progress!

FTM- cute photo of your baby girl! I've got my 3D/4D scan booked for end of May when I'm 30 wks. Can't wait!

AFM- also wondering where J and Button have got to. I know Eko and My Little Star must just be busy with their bubs though. I will struggle to have time to get on here when my girl comes along! Bad enough now with just my son!

I saw my midwife yesterday for routine 26 wk appointment at the birth centre. My student midwife was there too. It’s nice having two of them look after me, more people on my side. I have been having some aching/cramping pains since yesterday morning but think it’s just bowel related stuff, hence why i’ve had some lactulose this morning. But last night I did get a bit worried as it was kinda painful and wondered if it was early contractions. Not come to anything though thank goodness.

I actually took a sickie from work yesterday to get bub’s room finished off. Don’t get time at weekends as got DS to entertain. So it was good to work on it uninterrupted and get all my breast pump and bottles washed/sterilised. I know I’ll have to do this again before they’re used but they’ve been in storage since we emigrated here so wanted to give them a clean. Most are brand new and unused as we had tons for DS that we never had to use. Just want to buy a new tube for my Medela Swing pump as that’s the only bit that can’t be sterilised and think I should get a new one for the new baby.

Decided to refuse the glucose tolerance test yesterday as spoke to Pathology after seeing my midwife and there is no alternative drink you can have. Sure the normal thick drink will make my sick due to my gastroparesis, and midwife was ok with me not having it if it’s what I wanted. I had read online about people just drinking grape juice, Sprite or sugar water solution. My path lab wouldn’t allow that though so I crossed that test off my form and just had the full blood count and Vit D done. No issues with my first pregnancy so doubt there will be this time.

Just doing my forms for maternity leave at work, starting in 10 weeks time at 36 weeks. Can’t wait!

We've been approved, pending a few bits of paperwork that I just sent through! If it's all good I will sign the lease THIS AFTERNOON :O

Then we'll have a good month to get out of this place so we can move in slowly
