Ivy ended up sleeping 1045pm - 7am..,woke at 7 for good and is still asleep... It's 9am! I didn't sleep through as my boobs wouldn't let me after the feeding marathon and I had to express and was awake from 4-530!

I expect her to be stuck to my boob all day long

Yes Crafty if we take Ivy out all day and she gets no rest she is pretty cranky at night!

    Ivy is 8 weeks today!

Mrs S glad you saw some improvement!!

Yeah it's the acid that's the issue she doesn't spew its the pain of the acid that wakes her :-(

I just want to say a big thanks to all you ladies for sticking around on this thread even after the bubs have arrived. I know a few of the ladies have dropped off but having you all here to be able to vent to and share experiences with and learn from has been invaluable to me. I really hope it keeps up. I don't have a lot of friends with little ones, they have either had them or are nowhere close to having them so it's so good having people around that can relate!

Putting down a baby drowsy but awake is pretty difficult!! I think ivy is getting it, but it's definitely a frustrating process if I have more ill be doing this more from the start!!

Does anyone follow a routine or just let bub show the way. At night time we have feed, bath, feed cuddle bed routine but in the day it's just feed, play sleep and I watch for her signs so I can put her down at the right time..,but sometimes I feel like I shouldn't go out cause she needs a sleep...but i suppose she is just going to need to nap in the capsule!

    Hi there,

AmyEL and Nicsta that's fantastic sleeping well done!!

Mrs Simmo hope the loser is kicking in. Crafty I used your technique of letting coco cry for a wee bit at 6 ish when I put her to bed and since then she goes down without a fuss!!

i need some advise. I've been playing around with sleep to try to get a good night. Although I really can't complain compared to SL and mrs Simmo....

coco ( aka Elizabeth) goes to bed at 6 ish after a feed. She was sleeping til 4 am without a feed but then would feed and go back to sleep til 6 am. At 6 am she didn't want a feed just to play no then wont eat til about 8 am. So I started a dream feed at 10pm. Most of the time shed shut up shop and refuse to eat, or when she did eat it was a minimal half a boob effort and no matter what I did I couldn't get her to wake up. Only once has the dream feed at 10 pm bee n successful when she slept from 11-6 but only once.
So last night I fell asleep and forgot to dream Feed and she slept from 6pm til 430am. I fed her and she did the same slept til 6 am and then was up for the day! She refused to eat anything again til 8 am. Obviously I think she doesn't really need to eat at 430ambut is doing it for habit and now routinely wakes up at 430 out of habit. I be tried to resettle without milk but she wants the boob and can smell it on me. Any tips on how to get her to go to 6am??

Nicsta - you mentioned in a previous blog that your boobs weren't as hard - yip they self regulate at about 6-8 weeks and I thought I was loosing supply but its not just self regulating. Also when baby coco was sick she fed every 2-3 hours and it meant that last night when she slept from6-4am they were like rock melons!! And I had to express to.mlastly coc went thru a growth spurt at 8 weeks and again at 12. She's now 13 weeks. Growing up so quick,

Great that some of you are getting some good nights sleeps!

I agree that it's so great a few of us have hung around the forum I feel like we've been through so much together in the last year so it's wonderful to have the continued support in motherhood now!

Orlando is doing ok but still sick. He's eating more which is great but seems to have a lot of phlegm at the back of his throat which is making it harder for him to breathe and sleep. We had the humidifier on last night and I put some Vicks in his chest and he slept ok. At least now we are getting some consistent 2+ hours during the night. He doesn't have a fever but now his temp is too low (34.7) so I put a hat on him and have rugged him up!!

Gampa can you put off putting coco down to bed until a bit later of a night? I think I recall you have another daughter(?) so that might not work?

Our routine of a night is we usually give Zoe a feed between 5.30 and 6.30, then we eat while her food settles then we have bath time, followed by a play and give he a last bottle around 9.30 and put her down to bed then where she now only stirs at around 6 but is happy drifting in and out until around 8 most mornings.

Maybe it will work if you can delay it as Coco is sleeping a good run from 6-4 as it is? I can't believe she is 13 weeks already! How fast the time goes!!

SL sorry to hear Orlando is still sick. I really do admire you, you seem to be coping so well with everything.
