Does anyone have any advice, feeling a bit lost at the moment.

Have had two unsuccessful IUI's and will be having be trying one more on Wednesday.

If that doesn't work will move on to IVF. Does anyone have any advice for IVF?

It feels like each time we go to the FS he tells me something different from last time. Just wanted to get this show on the road.

Have been TTC for almost two years. Only problem is DH swimmers are a bit slow.

    Thanks for listening (reading).

Hi ABH - I can understand how you are feeling disheartened....

Sorry to hear your IUIs haven't worked, but don't lose hope. My DH also suffers from MFI - in all three key areas - morphology, motility and count. Our FS advised we should go straight to IVF/ICSI and we were so very fortunate to get our DD on our first try. For us, it was a magical mix of natural supplements and alot of luck that got us over the line. Is your DH taking any supplements? When my DH goes onto the supplements, his count increases dramatically - from virtually nothing to a "normal" amount.

In saying that, it has taken us 3 full stims to get our second miracle that I am now 21 weeks pregnant with. So it's not always an easy ride and I often believe it is a numbers game. Have a look at your DH's diet - is it high in fatty foods and limited exercise? My DH's was! Plus having DD it was increasingly difficult to get him to exercise and eat healthy because my time is so heavily deticated to her and he really needs me to motivate him to exercise. I could control what I brought at the groceries but not what he had a work...!

We trialled melatonin, which is controversial in itself but rarely trialled on men for fertility. I believe wholeheartedly that the melatonin was what helped when we did our cycle in January.Stay strong. You will get there.

Nicole, thanks for sharing your experience and your kind words. Made me feel a bit better. Really sucks that anyone has to go through this.

DH doesn't take any supplements, but eats pretty health and regulary exercises and is very fit. It Melatonin the only supplement your DH took??

Does anyone else's DH take supplements??

    Hi Ladies,

ABH I'm sorry your IUIs haven't worked for you, but you still have this one so don't give up on it yet!

i saw the FS today hoping that after 23 days of stimming I finally would have made some follicles so we could go ahead with IUI. Unfortunately I have overstimulated and now have 3 follies on one side and another couple coming along on the other.

Instead of wasting the cycle however our FS suggested IVF so that we can retrieve our eggs Friday and then go ahead with an embryo transfer next Wednesday. It was all very whirlwind this morning when the decision was made. I have to go back tomorrow for a long discussion with the nurses about the process and then have another USS on Wed, then all going well Ill have the egg retrieval Friday.

it all feels a little overwhelming, but after so long taking stims with no result, I am just so glad that we seem to be moving forward.

Any advice about IVF from those who have been there?

My DH has been taking Swiss mens multivitamin & berroca daily but he has also done all the other tips that they suggest like limit caffeine to 1 cup a day, no alcohol, wearing boxers as often as possible, not putting the laptop on his lap...etc and it improve his sample quality from poor to category 1. He takes the multi all the time but the others the week before IUI. Good luck

Nickilee - Sorry to hear your AF arrived its not a nice feeling and the two week wait is just a killer full of excitement/hope etc. Im in my 3rd cycle of IVF and got my AF recently we are going straight into the frozen cycle now so trying to get positive again that this is going to be the one. I have my fingers crossed for you we have two fluffy babies too which give us lots of cuddles/love to keep us going.

Nickilee - It is so hard to stay positive I agree and it dosent get any easier because each time you have to have the same amount of positivity/hope as the last cycle so we dont stress our body and to be able to deal with it all emotionally. What helps me and my DH is to have a couple of days crying and feeling sorry for ourselves after each fail so we can get all our emotions out and then after that we can move onto the next cycle we a positive vibe again. It will happen for us and this will be our cycle I'm sure. What day are you on at the moment? I have been having daily blood tests now since Monday to check my LH levels etc but been my FS told me i might not ovulate this month because of all the drugs from the fresh cycle so might not be ready for the FET till next month, im so impatient though. Sending you lots of positive vibes back
