    Hi everyone,
I hope you don't mind me joining/popping in. I am going to be starting my journey next week. My FS is away until the 28th so I saw lovely K Watson today. I have to say, she was just incredible!

the reason why I saw her was due to some concern around cysts. Thankfully all was good however she did say that my ovaries looked very poly cystic. This is nothing new however she did drop down my puregon from 200 to 150 as she was very concerned about overstimming. I am very happy with that decision!

i am just wondering if any of you ladies do have polycystic ovaries and managed not to overstim? And if so what was your drug regime?

sorry to bombard you all and if anyone is starting around the 24th, I would love someone to go crazy with!

    Thank you xx

Well today was scan day and DH and I got to see our little belly bean and got some pics to take home. It sure has grown since 7 week scan, currently 9 weeks and 5 days. It was wriggling around and heart beat was 150 and measuring perfectly. Can definitely see bambinos head and body. I have been told to take it easy as there is a risk that I may have a bleed, not connected to the baby though.

We have also had the Panorama BT, which test for down syndrome and is 99% accurate, the NT scan and BT are only 85% accurate. So we decide for our peace of mind we would get this done. Test is close to $900 and can't be claimed from Medicare or PHI, but can claim as out of pocket at tax time. The test takes two weeks to get results and is sent to America. For some reason you can only have the test if you have a singleton on board.

That's great about your BT results KJ and yes I hope the next few days go quickly for you. Its amazing how much it grows between 7 weeks and 9 - 10 weeks.

Welcome ToniR, can't help you with the polycystic ovaries question, but am sure one of the others will be able to. These ladies are a great support when you are cycling. Good luck.

Hi Toni. Maybe I can be of help.
I have pco and did overstim with the injections. I was on 150 with the injections which probably was a little bit too much for me. At epu I got 19 eggs which was at the high end of the scale and the Dr was a little worried so he froze all the embryos to allow my body to rest. I didn't get my first scan until cd10 and that wad when the Dr saw I had lots of follies and decided to get me in for epu earlier. PM me if you need any support. I don't belong on this thread anymore as I am preggo and it wasn't through ivf (see my signature below).
Good luck hun and I really don't mind if you want to pm me anytime x

Thank you for your response- I am very anxious about the impeding stimulation. Initially my FS wanted to start me on 200! When I saw K Watson, she wrote me out the order for 150 and said there is no way she would start me on such a high dose. I will give you a PM later if that is okay.

    Again in thank you xx

No worries toni. I look forward to reading about your journey. My FS said 200 would have been too high
for me also. Pcos is very tricky when on stims. How often will your FS scan you leading to epu? Just be careful with physical exercise when on stims. I was still going to yoga and pilates and it got a bit sore. Good luck!

Silverdragon- It looks like my first scan is day 2, then commence jabbing and have another scan on day 7. Not look forward to the bloating and cramps. I love to run and do bikram yoga- can see that flying out the window!

Congratulations on your pregnancy and what an awesome surprise away from IVF.

ABH - wonderful news. The scans are truly amazing.

Toni - wishing you a big warm welcome. Hope your stay is short and sweet. As for Bikram Yoga, you have to be extremely careful about overheating during a cycle and post transfer. It can affect the embryos. I did Hatha Yoga pre IVF cycle and then stopped for my cycle. It is then advised that you don't do yoga post transfer or for the first trimester. This has to do with overheating, so I would definitely say the Bikram would be out . All the very best. Yoga baby is excellent. Hopefully you will be a yoga baby student very shortly. X

KJ - that's so good your bleeding is subsiding, and you're coping with bed rest ok. The 7 week scan will be so exciting! Hopefully you get to hear the little heart beats. My bleeding seems to have stopped too. I'm still worried about the blood near the baby, what the prognosis is, whether the burst vessel will heal on its own, whether it will impact the placenta, whether it might happen again etc. Will find out more at the scan next week (8wks).

Toni - best of luck as you start your journey! I have PCO. It's bit complicated though because I have the cysts and over stim to stim medication, but my blood results don't support the diagnosis. I was put on 150mcg gonal f for cycle 1 and got 18 eggs and OHSS. Cycle 2 was the same dose. Dr thought I'd produce less eggs given 18 had just been taken. Wrong! Another 18 were retrieved. And OHSS again, but not as severe fortunately. I didn't have luck with the two fresh embryo transfers (possibly because of all the meds in my system and the OHSS), but did with my first FET. It seems like the first few cycles can be (an expensive!) trial and error. So much to learn about how your body responds. Good luck! I hope you get lucky first time.

ABH - your 9 week scan sounds like it went really well! How exciting. What is your bleeding risk about? I am on bed rest at the moment because of a burst blood vessel, and wonder if it's more common than I thought. Hopefully yours is all ok. We're trying to decide whether to do the panorama test. Big decision. Will you do the 12 week nuchal scan or will that not be needed now?

Amandamoo- yes I remember you ! I have cycled with you at some point! Thanks for your update and look forward to more positive updates, hope you catch your break this cycle ! DE was the best decision I made and seemed to do the trick for me (well actually it was DH who first brought up the idea and let me tell you I wasn't very pleased with him, I thought surely things can't be that bad with my eggs, while my amh is screaming 5 down to 2.6 in 1.5 years while on dhea and a range of other support the whole time! In my 5 fresh stims not even a ghost of a second pink line! You name it i took it, puregon, gonal 650, menpour, saizen, luveris....So I finally gave in to my dh, sister and nieces demand for de - my 24 yr niece is my donor, i very lucky plus their support has been tremendous, my niece had been offering since stim 3 but I thought nah I can pull this off! DE cycle here i am with twins..but yes at 8+weeks its still early days ESP with two bleeds already but still the farthest I have ever come! Good luck Amanda!

Milly- yay for your scan!! Not so yay for the bleed. I think more of us bleed on ivf cycles compared to naturally conceived pregnancies. Wazza must know how to sort it out like the back of his hand! It's at least good thst you know where the bleed is coming from, I had 4 separate sonographer who cldnt see mine maybe they just dont have that trained eye and experience as an ivf specialist. Neither did I have anyone put me on any meds (as my fs was on holiday during bleeds). Which is really upsetting ad I have spent thousands of $$ and only 5 years getting to this point! So I try and rest as much as I can, it's working so far! So you take it easy and rest up, we will beat this bleed!!

ABH- great news on your scan too! You seem to measure on the dot don't you ? Can I ask when did you tx I think it was two days before mine which was 31 Aug. My beans are prob 6 days behind yours but I did have a two morulas tx rather than blasts (you can imagine my disapppoinent at that time!, I know I shd have had a little bit more faith in my beautiful morulas, maybe their are girls I read they slowly!).

KJ - that's a great bt how many days dpt were you ? I bet you can't wait till Monday!! I think ABH said Panorama bt only for singleton? I hope your bleeding has stopped. I have heard about the Valium fuzz now are you guys taking two at a time cause I have taken it in the past if I cldnt sleep at night or for tx and don't feel a thing! (but iam hard core legal drugs junkie due to my migraines) is it taken at regular intervals?

Silver dragon, Earlwood, Toni, Laned (hey have you got the pram yet?!!), Nicole...Liney just wondering with your twins at how many weeks did you deliver and i am guessing it was a caesarean ? Were they in icu?
