She's only going by what he told her, which is most likely that it was a mutual relationship. Keep the texts you have and call your provider to see if they can get the deleted ones back. They can, I've seen court cases where deleted texts are used, I'm just not sure who recovers them. I know they are not gone for good though. Has your stepmom and psych definitely filed reports? Please do not worry about him or feel bad about what is happening, this is his making and you are a victim. I think try and get yourself to a dr soon and get some meds worked out. Is your referral to your psychiatrist still valid? Maybe see them. Some meds right now will really help calm you and take the fuzz of your anxiety and depression away. You were already depressed and I am worried this will send you deeper. I'm thinking that what the practice manager has done is probably illegal as well. She was trying to intimidate you and I am sure that would go against some sort of code of conduct.

    Definitely!

I doubt it will reach the news, unless one of you calls Today Tonight! She's just trying to intimidate you into backing off. Take what she says with a grain of salt. Trust your psych and her approach and attitude to all of this.

Oh hun. Big, huge, massive hugs. Sorry, I was busy the last few days.

The practice manager has overstepped SO many lines with what she's done. I agree with the others. Call your service provider and ask them to retrieve your text messages Write down everything you can remember her saying, the time the meeting was held and the reason. I'm pretty sure she broke a few rules even having that meeting to begin with, let alone trying intimidation tactics.
When it comes down to it, a complaint has been lodged. If she has no proof of this complaint, then it falls on her. Don't let her intimidate you. You are FAR stronger than either of them are giving you credit for.

More hugs for you. Just breath. She won't destroy your life. If it comes out in the news, they're the ones that are going to look bad. Even if you DID instigate it(which you didn't), the doctor still breached the code of conduct rules, so he won't want that strewn across the news and I doubt his wife will either. Just remember, they can TRY and take it to the news to discredit you, but what can they say/do that won't make them look bad? Nothing.

I have been following your thread, it's just horrible what this guy has done.

Regarding your deleted texts - yes, the carrier can retrieve them. They will be recorded on their SMS gateway. You can try to get them by calling but I suspect you'll need the police or a court order of some sort to get the records. I have had to get tech guys at work to pull message logs from our systems for police investigations in the past (we're not a carrier, but they would have similar records).

I hope he is held accountable.

That manager is a complete b!tch and is just trying to protect the practice. Please do not let her get to you. I think you should call them and demand your medical records no later than close of business today. They know legally they are screwed so they are just trying to cover their bums. Can your psych recommend you a new doctor? Remember you are doing an amazing job! x

You have mentioned your step mum is being great. I hope your husband is being just as good about everything and really stepping up and supporting you.

Once I told her that it was out of my control that it had already gone to AHPRA via my stepmother & psychologist, she was so cold. She told me I had made the biggest mistake I could make in this, that his life & career would be destroyed, the lives of his existing patients.. & to prepare for my life to be destroyed in the process.. I was crying & all she could say was "you need to work out your own mental health. You are no longer welcome back in this clinic". Heartbreak! I just bawled as she made me leave.... :-(
They are just trying to scare you into submission.
Don't give in and stay strong.

He used you and now they want you to look bad. Stick to your guns. You can find another Gp elsewhere who will help you.
