When I started back at work I had to call Centrelink to notify them. The automated message said the wait was 40 minutes (I was calling from the office), so I put the call on speaker, went to the loo, went down the street and bought my lunch, came back and ate it, played on my phone and finally they picked up just 10 minutes before the end of my break! Luckily the call itself only took about 8 minutes. Such a waste of time, but I was able to put the call on speaker which helped.

Good luck with the Families app - 80% of the time it's "experiencing technical issues" and you can't use it

I haaate centrelink! I had to call them to update our income & change our FTB. It took me 4weeks because I got sick of waiting on hold/missing the call back. I went into the office once to avoid the call centre, lady behind desk said 'you could have called' I laughed because I was fed up with waiting on hold when the office is 1k down the road, I can walk there & back faster then getting them on the line.

Oh fun. I was planning on using the job seeker app to do all my reporting because I can do it while looking at my time book without bring it home.

yeah it's getting real bad. If you had to get transfered it was almost instant but these days there is even a delay with that.

The one that got me the other night was when I called iiNet. I requested a call back and when they called back I still had to wait for 10 mins for them to answer my call. Why freaking call back if you aren't ready to talk to me!!

    Ahh, drives me mental!
I HATE the voice activated calls. Not only do they not recognise what you say, they rave on for about 5 mins before you can even choose anything. Like the CL one, seriously they talk for ages... STFU and get a real person to answer my call

A couple of years ago I did my tax a bit late and when I lodged the tax office was overhauling their entire system and it was down for 3 solid months. Despite providing proof I had lodged, going to multiple meetings to explain, they kept cutting me off. I would call up, tell my long winded story (bc it had been going on months) and they would say oh I need to transfer you and put you in another queue. Then they would pass me back. It sent me bonkers.
