    Default Good paed North Brisbane?

Sorry all, I did have this post in the appropriate section of the forum but I've received no replies.

As title suggests I am looking for a good paediatrician (spelling probably wrong sorry) in NOrth Brisbane.

Also, I need help from a dietician or a nutritionist for my child (but I don't know the difference between these two things?) Please give me any recommendations if you can.

Hope someone can steer me in the right direction!

I've never been to a paed before - not as a mother and not as a child. Are they basically a specialized children's doctor? Can you go there to discuss any health matter - like eating and behaviour? Does it matter that it's just simple issues? Also, what sort of cost are the consultations?

I feel I'm not getting enough answers from my gp or child health.

There are different types of paeds. Your general paed is s specialist in children but then you have specialist paeds who are sub specific in their disciplines. Ie gastic paeds are for intolerances and reflux. Behavioural paeds specialise in diagnosis of Autism or ASD plus other behaviours.

We paid 160-200 per visit but got back a fair bit on Medicare. We've only ever used a normal paed.

A paed will refer you to whatever else you need if you have a doofus of a gp. There is a great gp for kids at alderley medical clinic on south pine rd. Dr Ben Freeman. He is fabulous

Hi there. My two daughters see two different paeds as i couldnt get them into th same one.
We see Dr McGill at North West and also Dr Tran at Greenslopes Paeds in a Pod. Both are excellent, supportive and genuinely care. I hope you have luck soon xo. I think Greenslopes would be able to recommend you to a dietician. Its a long drive and not cheap but worth it.
