I know you say you've moved on, but yet another suggestion if you'd like to take it further/let other potential customers know what they could be in for:

The Chaser has a new show called "The Checkout", all about retail/products/consumer affairs. You can add complaints to their "FUTube", and other people can see what's happened with the business. They also play some on air. Social media is fantastic for getting businesses to pay attention... especially given that you were denied your legal right and THEN abused.

Thing is what he did was illegal. All business HAVE to offer a refund....he cant just say no refund. You have every right to ask for a refund or replacement if the goods are faulty.

Maybe you need to point him to this document - http://www.fairtrading.qld.gov.au/Co.../Buy_Smart.pdf

If I were you I would take it further, especially as the police have recieved complaints about him before. Go to the Office of Fair Trading and make a complaint.

I already rang the police after the first call and was told I couldn't do anything unless he called again in hitch case I could file for harassment. The second call I got was from the wife apologising

I'm with previous posters, name and shame. Was the store in a shopping centre? I would advise centre management that one of their tenants is behaving in this manner. It is in their best interest not to have abusive psychopaths running stores within their property!

I know that I listen when my friends have negative experiences, there are several businesses I do not visit due to their treatment of people I know.
