Exclamation HeLp!! Anyone else had the runs before labour?!

Ok warning this contains a few bits of "TMI" Due date is today! Yay! Yesterday I started to have stomach pains like I needed to poo, would go sit on the toilet. Nope nothing. Lying on the couch last night I could hear and feel gas bubbles floating around in there and figured it might be gas pain. Today I've started to have the runs... but its not like everything in my stomach is rushing out,, sorry really hard to explain. Its just I poo a little bit each time I go to the toilet and get wonderful cramps before doing such. But no these cramps arn't something I can time. They can last for a few minutes. My whole stomach has felt tight like its a contraction since yesterday (but it doesn't hurt more just bracks and hicks). Been drinking loads of water and trying to take it easy. Did anyone else have something similar to this before going into labour? If so how long did you have the symptoms for? Did it stop before labour began? I'm a little worried about doctors and nurses going down stairs at the moment..... very embarrassing! This is my second pregnancy and I never had anything like this with my first. My waters broke (on due date) and off to hospital we went. I'm actually wondering if I may be sick but I don't have a temperature and

Yes this was early labour for me! I kept refusing to go accept I was in labour, thought I just had the runs. Then DH informed me that my stomach cramps were exactly 5 mins apart!

I should add that my forewaters broke the previous fri night, then in the early hours of that sat morning I started getting a slight period type pain. Then at about 11pm that sat night I woke with stomach cramps followed by a rush to the toilet. By about 2am Sun morning the running to the toilet had stopped but the stomach cramping was intensified and coming about 3-4mins apart. By then I was certain I was in labour and we made our way to hospital. DS was born at 10:30 that Sunday morning.

Sounds like you might meet your baby soon! 🎉😄

Yes, Mother nature's enema for me was always a sign of early labour. Sounds like your baby's arrival may be imminent.

Yep both times for me I had a 'clear out'... Once I was I established labour didn't need to go to the toilet at all.

Sigh. Still got them but no baby yet. Darn. How long did everyone's last for? Was there a gap between when they stopped and labour starting?

Yes definitely was for me with DS, runs started around midday and lasted for a good few hours and then stopped - I had him at 6am the following morning.
