Default Help!! 3 year old behavior is it normal??

    Hello all!! Advice needed!!

I am at my wits end with my DS 3.5 year old ( also have a DS 2 year old)

3 year old is behaving badly - hitting brother, shouting, being rude to me, throwing toys too. i tried using time out but he usually gets up and wanders about during the 3 mins. Also have tried putting him to his room but he will play with toys etc and he has recently been tearing his books during this time.
He is usually a very nice child but these outbursts are driving me crazy and I am struggling to cope.

I don't know how to deal with it to get somewhere. At kinder he is very well behaved and sociable, maybe a little quiet. When we are out or he has friends round he is so lovely and behaves well.

I have also tried positive reinforcement for the good behavior and saying that I don't like it when he hits, yells etc

Is this normal or am I doing something wrong????

I don't think it's anything your doing wrong, I've noticed with my DS (almost 3) that he misbehaves the most when he is bored, so maybe try some new activities to keep him entertained,
Go for a walk in a park and collect some "treasures" and then later do arts and crafts with those "treasures" etc. etc.

My son is much the same, I don't think you're doing anything wrong! Kids all go through different stages, hopefully it doesn't last too long! We do time out & keep putting my son back until he sits there for the whole time (we do 2mins) & then has to say sorry & give me or his dad a hug. My son is worse when I get cranky with him, so I have to try to keep calm (not easy at all sometimes!)
