Good luck, I hope you go into labour very soon!

Once I passed 40 weeks (had bub at 42 weeks) they started monitoring fluid levels. However they did it on a little mobile ultrasound machine at each checkup. I had a textbook pregnancy too, they just did it as routine.

As soon as I declined induction and had huge arguments with the hospital they were initially going to have me in for CTG and fluid check each day. In the end they decided every second day was enough, and as it turned out I only went to one check then bub arrived

Does your OB have their own ultrasound machine or can you just go to your hospital on Monday for a check?

why don't you ring your Obs rooms and tell them the ultrasound place wont fit you in on monday?? Perhaps the secretary or the Ob can ring them and I'm sure they would find a place! Especially if your Ob already said to you to get them to fit you in. It's actually a really quick scan - not like a normal ultrasound, it's 10mins max. I've had them each time I've gone overdue, and with my last child, the midwives actually did the scan.

Or ring your Obs rooms either way and explain the situation, it may be that the Ob is happy to still see you on monday using the results from friday re the fluid level.

I would probably have the ultrasound having been in the same situation (fundal height decreased to 36 at 41 weeks) and ended up with an AFI of 3 which is the fluid index which is extremely low I had only a few drops of amniotic fluid when my waters were broken, the week before my Afi was 9 (normal for 40 weeks)

Thanks everyone, you are all making really good points!! I will see what the night brings as I feel lots of pressure and period type pains already :-)

then first thing in the morning I will call the scan place to try and move the appointment. If that fails Ill call the OB and ask for their advises. Obviously I want to make sure everything is right

But I feel that a ctg tomorrow might be enough as I'm only 40+3 :-)

Will keep you posted if you're interested ;-)

I think that some midwives/OBs do this for babies that are overdue to make sure that the amniotic fluid is okay.. Mine got lower and lower from 38 weeks..

I have cancelled the appointment as I'm in labour
24 hrs of regular light contractions, still 1-2 cm but cervix has thinned. the hospital won't take me before contractions "take my breath away" even though they are 1 min long and 4 min apart.

    Gutted, I want my drugs!!!
