Sorry it can be a sign that your skin is stretching. My itching was accompanied by stretch marks. I almost didn't get them too!

Friend told me she had itchy tummy and were moisturizing 3 times a day with Palmers. Still itchy!
I've been moisturizing once a day with Gaia belly butter in the pink tube and I'm not itchy at all. I put it on at bed time and still feel moist skin in the morning and don't even use much. I'm in my 2nd tube at 34wks and its only $17.

My belly is extremely itchy.. I have just started getting stretch marks within the last couple of weeks.. I'm 33 weeks... Have been told scratching is bad for the stretch marks - (which I can tell as my stretch marks look like they are going to bleed after I scratch them - they are red raw!) however I have a friend who was pregnant and scratched her stomach constantly and never got stretch marks. It just comes down to the person... It sounds like you are doing what you can to try and prevent them - ( I was very slack with the moisturizing )

I haven't got any yet (28 weeks) but the itching has only just got more consistent. I will definitely not scratch & just hope for the best. My mum never got any stretch marks so hopefully what they says is true & it is genetic!
I might try the Gaia too. Thanks!

I'm itchy all the time too but no stretchmarks yet at 32 weeks. I just use a cocoa butter moisturiser to stop the itching. Didn't bother wasting money on expensive stretch mark creams, I figure if I'm going to get them I'm going to get them.

Oh that is good to hear!
The itching hasn't been too bad today - it was last night that it was driving me really mad and I went into a bit of a panic!
I have all sorts of moisturising stuff - not all specifically for stretchmarks.
I'm just using them all. I figure I'll lather up in all sorts and hope for the best!

I did some reading on this last night and apparently stretch marks are genetically pre-determined. The moisturisers and things may or may not help (jury is out) but I think some women will get stretch marks regardless and the creams and things will hopefully take the edge off.....

Yep I believe it's genetic too.
I'm 36 weeks now & no stretch marks as yet-touch wood none develop from here on out!!

I have been moisturizing day & night, but I believe it is genetic whether you get them or not or how bad you get them.
