I have met a few (of course I don't "know" them though)

I was in the movie Australia so met Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban, Hugh Jackman and David Whenam etc

I have seen Wally Lewis often grocery shopping in the same store I shop.

I "know" two motor cross legends from LA that are often out here and big names with Krusty demons etc (bubba and Seth E.nslow - they are both really good friends with my brother)

My brother is fairly well known in the music industry in Aus and as a result I "know" and have met many well known musicians throughout Australia.

I know a top model who lives in LA who has dated big shots like Robbin Williams, Leonard's decaprio etc (she went to school with my husband and they often party when she visits home)

My very close family friend is in politics and well known in QLD.

A very close family member is married to the child of one of Australia's most wealthiest persons.

And of course ( I have some relatives that are famous for several things but they are long deceased)

I don't consider sporting people to be celebrities for some reason. Is that just me?

Maybe it's because I don't watch sports or know anything about it, I don't see them there fore I don't know who they are?

I think when the OP mentioned famous, I think she meant world famous and not famous-in-your-suburb.

I like how meeting them once counts as 'knowing them'

If thats the case, I 'know' heaps of old school celebs like Peter Andre, Mellissa George, Isla Fisher and the Backstreet Boys........and then most recently Jason Momoa.
