I went off at my aunt last Christmas. She referred to me by 3 different names in a Xmas email. All spelt different ways!!! I have a standard name. She has also been shortening it since i was a kid which me and my mum don't like. She continues to do it. I just snapped and wrote something on my Facebook about ppl not getting my name right. Next thing I know I'm getting my aunt texting me and my cousins sticking up for her and I was forced into apologizing and blaming the Xmas stress on it. I did not mean that apology!

How much is it to ask to get ur name right! You've had a few decades!

Mine gets spelt wrong all the time. My maiden name was a disaster and my married name is better (it's an actual word in the dictionary) but still constantly is mispronounced!!

This is the exact reason I can't stand people naming their children strange names etc. Do people have any idea how annoying it is to say, spell and pronounce your name several times a day?

For the record. My first name is 'kym'... How hard is it??

My name is always mispronounced and spelt wrong - it's C a r l e e and I'm constantly called car-lee or kylie. Spelling can range from Carly to karli and everything in between. People often add extra letters to our surname too. Like for example say its Bodie we will get people say 'you must know David Brodie'. Um no we don't that's a completely different surname

My first name is quite unusual but my maiden name very common, unfortunately my married name is fairly uncommon too so now I have to spell both names out! Lol!

My aunt constantly gets my name wrong too. This is despite me living with her for two years and every email I send her has my name in the From box, but she still manages to reply and add extra letters to the spelling?

I'm Jessica. I prefer Jess, hate Jessie.

My last name is Japanese and so many people don't even bother to attempt it because it looks foreign. It's very simple, pronounced exactly how it's spelled but often people don't even get the first letter right. I actually think it's a bit racist tbh.

I think getting people's names wrong is just rude! Its always been a pet hate of mine! If I can't remember a name or spelling I always ask . I have to get it right or I can't use the name!!! I think ppl with unusual names are more than happy to tell u the correct way if it means you won't do it wrong in future!

I have an easy to pronounce name that is still said wrong at times.
    It's constantly spelt wrong.
I get told i have a poodles name on fairly regular basis.
I hate my name and would love to change it. I just have no idea what to.
