    Default Melancholy after weaning?

DS had his last breast feed on Tuesday at 23 months exactly, he has just stopped asking for it and wasn't wanting to feed to sleep at bedtime anymore! I have felt so awful since, just a huge heavy sad feeling. Is this hormone related?? Is it normal?! I am sad our feeding journey is over but also happy to have my body back, I didn't expect to feel so down in the dumps about it. Anyone experienced this?

It is grief. You are experiencing the full feeling of grief from the loss of that special relationship. I felt a similar way when my DS1 self-weaned at 13 months. I think it's totally normal. Big hugs and be gentle to yourself. Allow yourself to feel sad.

I could've written this post myself! My journey is a bit different, after 5.5 months of struggling with my supply and mixed feeding since basically birth, my DS finally weaned and it was absolutely heart breaking.

But ia, it's definitely a feeling of grief! One I'm struggling to overcome
