I was 16 and a close friend of mine tragically died under the worst circumstances possible. It scarred me and my fellow classmates forever and makes my heart feel heavy every time I think of her and that period of my life.

At age 32 another of my dearest friends passed away from cancer and he was 25. An amazing person who had such incredible inner strength. It took me a long time to come to terms with his passing because he was the most top bloke you would ever meet...and it didn't seem fair that he was taken away at such a young life.

I also had my first daughter that year and I was thankful he got to meet her a few times.

    2009 and 2010 would have to be the worst years of my life but also some of the best;
    Welcome DD2&3
Nearly killed in a hit and run whilst parked holding DD2 & preg with DD3
DD2 had to have surgery at 4 months whilst hubby was away working for 3 months
    Moved interstate away from family
Emergency surgery whilst 24 weeks pregnant 1 week after moving interstate
    DD3 delivered early
    DD2 needed more surgery
DD1 diagnosed with type 1 diabetes(still worst moment of my life not being able to prevent it from happening)
DD3 hospitalised and diagnosed with asthma a week later
Moved back home to deal with DD1's diabetes..

All of this happened in 16months but made us stronger then ever as a family!!

    Probably last year. 2012.

I didn't have my op last year, but last year I got "normal" sized for the first time in my adult life. I studied and got my diploma. I got my license. I got a job.

Before that, I did pretty much nothing... so last year was a great year for me. I feel like a new person, and it's really quite scary at times.

2005- one single event stopped me looking at the world around me with innocence and changed me forever.

2010- I fell in love with dh and fell pregnant with dd.

The year that changed my life,,, hmm, when I was 18 and had my daughter in hospital for 3 months, it made me a tougher person, and also showed me the value of life. 2009, the year that I met the man of my dreams, and fell in love (real love). I guess I haven't had many turn around points after that in my life, but in 2011 we got engaged and this year we are getting married. I feel excited and nervous but this it is what I have always wanted. He is the best man for my 2 girls too, my daughter helped him propose!
