Unfortunately it was the end of the season, and I agree, what a fizzer. I was expecting another wedding and what an exciting finale that would have been (for all of those of you who have read the books, you know what I mean)!

well that was a disappointing finale . They should have made last ep the final one. But really, it's summed up the whole season where not a lot has happened. Lets think about what's happened all season -

Jon Snow fell in love, joined then left the wildlings
    Tyrion and Sansa got married
    Jaime got captured and released
Deny got together an army and took on a few cities
    Robb and Cat died.
Gentry got captured by the Red Woman and Stannis

So no end-of-season cliffhanger?? I thought for sure they'd end it where you are referring

Yeah I was surprised they didn't end it with another wedding.
Maybe they are trying to drag out the books over more than one season each so they don't catch up too quickly with Goerge R.R. Martin. Otherwise we might be waiting ten years between seasons while we wait for him to write the final books! Haha.

Lol, thats a possibility. But he has alread told the producers how he plans to end the series, just in case he doesnt live long enough to complete it.

I was really expecting them to have Joffrey's wedding in the finale.

Well next season is going to be great! I can't wait. Seriously needs to have more episodes though or be closer together. I don't want to wait until 2014!!

From what I have read, there is a reason why Martin chose to end the season the way he did. No clue to what reason though.

My brother pointed out today that the best episodes have always been number 9, not the season finale. Ned was beheaded in S1E9 and the Battle of Blackwater Bay was S2E9. Hopefully we don't have to wait until S4E9 for Joffrey's wedding!
