She said a few ep's ago to Robb's wife that she really regretted being horrible to Jon. Her actions weren't right but I think a bit understandable.

I'm no huge Cat fan but I can understand how hard that must have been for her. It would be worse if she didn't regret it.

So nobody else agrees its all Ned's fault?! Lol.

I blame Littlefinger. I'm sure I figured out at some point that it was his fault but the storyline is involved enough as it is and I can't remember why!

Oh thank goodness I can finally re-enter this thread! I was so scared of spoilers, but I somehow got through to last night without any.

So... I knew something full on was going to happen. I thought it was either Joffrey dying a particularly gruesome death, or a lot of main characters being killed off at once. Given it was the latter, TBH I'm relieved. If I had to choose a bunch to go, it would be them. Don't I sound awful?! But the fact is Robb did break his word, he behaved terribly. And Cat's been nothing but a PITA for a long, long time. And what real good was a King in the North to the storyline anyway? Nope, I'm not too distressed.

Thank heavens Arya didn't make it to the wedding any earlier, now that I would have been devastated about.

Can someone who has read the books explain something please? If Robb's wife wasn't a character in the books, then what did he to to offend Frey?

I re-watched the first two seasons just before season three came out, and as I watched Ned divulging all his plans to Cersei I just wanted to slap him. FFS, what did he expect?!

He was meant to marry one of his girls, but married the other girl instead. He had an agreement with Frey first. It was part of their alliance.

Eta sorry I thought you meant in the show not book lol

Robb does marry someone else in the books, a girl called Jeyne Westerling. She is the daughter of an impoverished lord and is shy and pretty- not like the ballsy Talisa. And he WAS supposed to marry a Frey so the offence is the same

Ahh, so everything was the same from Frey's perspective? Thanks

Yep. Though the book is a lot less flattering in its description of the Freys!
